im very disappointed in Shogun performance.. since when he can be taken down so easily? he didn even bother to defend babalu take down.. if tis continue.. he has to pack his bag and fly back to his old village in brazil..

What happened to Shogun? I remember him being more… dominant. Evan in the Forest fight he was better, and they went at a crazy fast pace. Babalu is good but I didn’t see this comming.

It seems like a few people are posting to this vid as if it happened yesterday. This was fought years ago, early in both of their careers, and it was, I think, both of their second fights of the night. So let’s not think that Shogun just got beat and is already washed up, He hasn’t fought since the Forrest fight. This was his only loss besides the Coleman fight before fighting Griffin.

I remember when I first saw this fight a few years ago, personally I thought it was great.

I also got a laugh out of the posters that are talking about the fight as if it just happened. I believe Shogun was something like 20 years old in that fight, and with what he showed against Babalu back then no wonder he’s considered the top 205lb fighter my many people.

I hope his knee recovers fully so we can see that crazy aggressive style he brings to the ring.

For those of you that saw Shogun for the first time when he fought against Griffin, that’s not a great measuring stick for how good he is. He fought that fight with a knee injury, let’s see what it’s like when he’s healthy.

This thread basically makes more excuses as to why Shogun lost to Forrest. I believe he would lose agin if they fought again and yes I have seen most of Shogun’s fights. I believe someone dont like like themselves more b/c of their opponents than anything…..

Typical, someone doesn’t think laying on their back the whole fight doing nothing is boring and they think that’s MMA and everyone should love it. It’s as stupid as me telling you to go watch wrestling because MMA is not for you.
