Matt Serra Calls Matt Hughes A Dick During UFC 70

Saturday nights announcement of the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 6 got Matt Serra a little more worked up than anticipated.

Newly crowned welterweight champion Serra has been seen voicing his dislike for Matt Hughes to anyone that will listen. During a break between fights Serra, sitting in with Joe Rogan, called Hughes a “dick” after the announcement that Serra and Hughes would be coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 6.

Serra has had run inns with Hughes in the past which has lead to there dislike for one another. Serra considers Hughes to be an “arrogant bully.”It looks like Hughes is being quiet for now but the feud should escalate as the shows taping begins in the coming months.

Is the talk a true deep rooted hatred or is this more propaganda to boost the ratings for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. The higher some fighters rise the higher there egos have to climb.

i think matt hughes is a huge dick. he is so nice on camera but from man other fighters say he is a dick. he told joe riggs wife “im sorry i had to kick your husbands ass” then called him a tomato can whatever that means. he is a jerk and needs to be put in his place once and for all

What I find unrealistic about the UFC TV Shows is the degree to which the two coaching UFC fighters torque their language up, in order to get the fans (i.e. show watchers) to believe that they will do something dramatic, like leave the show, if things on their team do not improve.

Now, what would happen if one of the coaches actually did this? You’d have no TV show. Hence, you need to eliminate this empty threats since they clearly not going to happen.

Serra is an angry man and when you are angry in fighting business you will loss, and it is better for Serra to remember that it will not be good for him to call Hughes dick because if he loss then people will lagh forever at him. I am totally with Matt Hughes and Serra should apply for disability now in order to be approved by Dec 29-07

hughes is the superior fighter, however, he often does seem like quite a dick. matt serra has certainly pissed off his share of people as well, but he at least seems to be genuine and honest. in contrast, anytime you catch hughes sounding humble and caring, he’s usually just doing what he thinks is expected of him by god. there’s a big difference.

but to be fair, when hughes speaks highly of gsp, he is being completely honest. no question about that.

Matt Hughes is a jerk and he thinks he’s better than everyone. Now, after two HUGE losses, maybe he will stop believing his own bullshit and mabye Hughes will get off of his high horse.
