Yeah replying to the guys earlier, Royce certainly didn’t bloody up Kimo in UFC 3. His punches are fantastic.

Royce in his prime could beat anyone. Anyone.

Yeah in teh old UFC Gracie would use finger bends to tap people out. use part of there clothing to choke em out. When using the rules they use now days in UFC its a lot harder for him to tap people out, so when a better fighter comes along he jsut gets owned.

Ppl seem to overlook that in the early UFC Gracie used his fighting gear much to his advantage. For example he would use it for protecion as well as to choke opponents. And he hits like a girl.

It is not his fault that when it all started other competitors didn’t have enough skills te beat him, but he did use his gear as an advantage several times and I don’t think he’d be as dominant in todyas MMA competition.

remember that royce fighter with time limited,and a bet that if the fight be free time ,royce win!!!!remember that in ufc 4 he stay in octogono for 15min to a lot of time,who today in ufc can stay for a big time???nobory so for me and my friends he is the best and the champion.

Gracie is so overrated. His wins in the past were against fighers that didnt have any submission skills at all. Nowadays you need to be a complete fighter to make the top. Royce´s stand-up fighting kind of looks like my grandma´s

In his prime Gracie would destroy him
Look at Hughes now at like 34 years old he already is going downhill.
Gracie was 39 in this fight
Ufc 1-3 Gracie would pulverize Hughes period!

One of the hardest things for these fighters to do is retire, even when they are past their prime, like Gracie. The best thing to do is to quit when it’s time, and go out when are on top. Now that is class. Rocky Marciano was a good example.
