Good fight. Shows potential by Boetsch, just need a bigger gas tank. I think Boetsch gave Hamill a good run for his money. Tougher than bisping

Matt Hamill might might have the worst stand-up ever but he has the wrestling a pure power and, more importantly, the heart of a champ in my opinion.

I have to say that his striking doesn’t look much better than when he was on TUF. He needs a good coach. Even if here to be able to improve his ground and pound he would beat the crap out of a lot of people.

Boetsch hit him pretty hard with punches and kicks but he kept on coming…Like a zombie.

You just can’t help to like this guy.

I think Boetsch did a pretty good job but I can tell that the superior wrestling of Hamill and the high elevation did a number on him, like a lot of the other fighters…

hamil needs better defense in terms of head movement and covering up in the clinch. his striking doesn’t look refined at all, but he does have power behind those punches to make up for it. someone needs to get him into some hardcore muy thai sessions, though i did see an attempt at a high kick.

God I’m sick of this, Hamill is such a one dimensional fighter, he just lays an prays until the person is too damn tried to defend properly. And whats with that crappy lunging left? He does like 3 in a row. Holy crap! Why have all the fighters he’s fought had some much trouble standing up with him? He’s one of the worst fighters in UFC! His wrestling is ineffective and his stand-up is complete trash! I can’t wait until Hamill fights someone with half a brain and he gets KTFO.

Matt didn’t really look like his heart was in it here. He was a manimal when he fought Bisping. (I lost all respect for Bisping after that fight, to take a beating like that then talk all that shit after the decision went his way because they were in London. Bisping is sack of shit, though i honestly thought he won against Evans) Because he is deaf it seems like he’s in his own little world out there. It can work to his advantage when he’s focused but it seemed to hurt him here, taking all those shots, and not really ever getting concerned. The stand up was horrible, and I don’t know that it will ever improve, we’ll see……, but i agree with the commentator in this vid, Hammil should be undefeated at this point, shitty stand up or not. Guess you can’t get a fair chance in London if you’re fightin a Brit.

everybody was gettin winded in colorado. thats what happens when u fight in high elevation. but fighters should be better prepaired for that once they know where they’re fightin.
matt’s stand up does look pretty bad but somehow he keeps beatin these guys with slow power punching. love that guy. always good to see him win.
i like that boetsch guy too. since his debut fight and tossed that jackass on his head.

I like Hamill and I can’t argue against the fact his stand up needs a lot more work. He needs to learn how to throw knees like the ones he was eating. Anyone who says his wrestling is average is clueless, the guy is world class in that department and is a genetic freak when it comes to his power.

I think with a little more work with the right coach he can be a monster, he seems like he’s immune to pain, that alone will take him further than most.

I agree with you all that Hamill’s standup needs a lot of work. However, in each of Hamill’s fights, his opponent has looked the worst he has ever in his career. Once or twice may be a fluke, but Hamill has done this in all of his 6 fights. There must be some deceptive power in these hands and like someone else said, he has a very high pain tolerance and an iron chin. I look forward to him developing some more, then he may be a real prospect, cant imagine him holding up against Rampage etc just yet.
