Matt Hamill In Shock Over Michael Bisping Vs Rashad Evans At UFC 78

Matt Hamill let everyone know just how he felt after finding out about Michael Bisping Vs Rashad Evans being the main event at UFC 78. Hamill made a post on his personal web site that reads, “Wow! Let me just say… I am in shock. First, I get hosed by two judges in London and now the much anticipated rematch has evaporated in front of my eyes.”

Last month, “The Hammer”announced that he had just undergone minor knee surgery, but he hoped for a rematch against Bisping Dec. 29 at UFC 79. It looks like the surgery may have caused the delay of a rematch with Bisping or, as many fight fans feel, the UFC is not ready for Bisping to lose yet.

Hamill posted information about his surgery on his site to let everyone know it was very minor but obviously the UFC didn’t think it was minor enough.

Hamill WAS hosed, and Bisping was a classless jerk in the post fight interview.

A lot of people are going to be pulling for Hamill whenever the rematch happens…I’m definitely one of them.

sad thing is that bisping might drop to 185 when rashad puts the stompin on him so this rematch might not happen at all. i feel for hamill, he got royally screwed in england and the ufc cant review the ruling or even give him a REMATCH

Not only is Dana White an ass for doing this, but he’s also an idiot. Rashad is going to knock Bisping out, and is likely to beat him even more convincingly than Hamill would be able to at this time. End result: White loses both his UK poster boy and a big payout on the Hamill / Bisping rematch everyone and his uncle wants to see. Dana White, the ultimate double threat – classless and dumb.

Rashad will kill Bisping. Matt will never get to rematch the loser from UK. Dana will lose money on what could have been a great fight card with a Hammil-Bisping rematch.

American wrestlers like Rashad and Matt are the worlds most boring fighters. They use takedowns like a striker uses a bloke. They dont try to finish like Jujitsu guys, its lay and pray and I hope Rashad gets knocked out as otherwise its going to be the most boring 3 rounder of the year.

I’m usually all for everyone havin their own opinion and all, but you thinkin that explosive, ever improving fighters like Rashad and Matt are boring… you’re a dumbass. Rashad reminds me a lot of George St. Pierre at times; (aside from his recent loss, he usually keeps up a pretty entertaining stand-up display with kick and punch combos.) Guy’s on a rampage.
and Matt Hamill. The guy has always been a seriously strong wrestler but the amount of stand-up skill he displayed in that fight against bisping was an amazing improvement. He used to be a wreck on his feet. I find it hard not to want to see a rematch.

I watched the Hamill Bisping fight twice. The first time I was dismayed by the decision (except for the one judge who correctly scored 30-27 in favor of Hamill), but the second time I was just pissed off. Bisping was dominated for the entire fight. Hamill nearly knocked him out, and took him down repeatedly. Bisping didn’t take Hamill down once, if I remember correctly. Bisping got a hard lesson in MMA, and then at the end-of-fight interview was acting like he actually beat Hamill and wasn’t surprised by the decision. He actually said that Hamill didn’t really hurt him at all during the fight. I guess when you get punched in the face a lot and then can hardly stand up, it doesn’t hurt. Hamill, on the other hand, was all class saying “he beat me fair and square”. Of course, Bisping’s no slouch, but he lost all three rounds of the fight with Hamill, no question. I’m very happy to hear that Evans just beat Bisping at UFC 78. Two losses in a row qualifies him as a loser.

Hamill didn’t finish Bisping, he let him up several times insted of knocking his head off. And for sure, he couldn’t submit Bisping cuz he don’t know how. I like Bisping and Evans, especially Evans and he would beat the other two handily.

Just a heads up. All 3 judges, we provided by England. I recall Dana commenting on the whole issue. They can’t review the scoring or anything, but he did say that they weren’t HIS usual judges, they were from England.

Actually the 1 English judge gave it Hamill and the 2 American judges gave it to Bisping so dont be spouting that crap.

Hamill is a totally classy guy and Bisping is a fucking full of shit rooster and Hamill owned the fight. It was the first time I saw a fight in UFC and thought “that’s a fix” My theory is they figured they could market Bisping more easily than Hamill, which in itself is narrow and short-sighted. Hamill’s story, his heart, and his sincerity make him a potential huge fan favourite.

I was disgusted by that decision, I had Hamill taking all 3 rounds, 1 and 2 decisively and round 3 was close but I had Hamill winning that as well. The 2 who gave it to Bisping, I only have one question…what were they smoking? Hamill was robbed, point blank. Bisping is going to get beaten up by Henderson after the TUF9 finale.
