Josh Rosenthal did this crap with the Antonio Silva/Cain Velasquez fight as well and Dana White called him on it. This is a TERRIBLE stoppage. If you count the unanswered strikes it might be more than 20. Munoz was NOT intelligently defending at any point. He was clearly out. I’m more in favour of the occasional early stoppage than see damage to a fighter like this.

To those who don’t know, Chris Weidman is a PHENOM..he’s beat Ryan Bader and Phil Davis (both LHW) in wrestling tournaments, and went against Galvao back in 09 and didn’t get tapped, and that was after only 1 year of training BJJ…listen to me carefully, this guy can and will take you down, and easily submit you, he’s got EXACTLY they style, temperament and skill to defeat Silva rather easily….mark my words. He’s confident, and unlike like Sonnen, he can finish a fighter. This guys has just turned the MS division on its head.

moronic. i understand that some people don’t like Anderson Silva, but the statements of “JBJ would CRUSH Silva”….or this one that Weidman would easily beat Silva are just nonsense.
Weidman is impressive and has a great career ahead of him. but speaking of being a finisher…Silva has finished Vitor Belfort, he finished Franklin twice, finished Sonnen twice, finished Dan Henderson. i mean come on. i get it…. there’s something new and shiny in the middleweight division but before you start calling him the greatest fighter of all time, compare resume to resume.
and its funny how people just KNOW that this fighter or that fighter can finish Silva. consider this – you have never seen Silva lose in the UFC. you don’t know what that looks like. Weidman is a good prospect who will probably one day be middleweight champ. but that day will come way after Silva makes a highlight reel out of him and eventually decides to retire.

What are you talking about??An MMA ref can’t be suspended or fined because they are heavenly beings who ar enever wrong…There’s a ref who in a womens fight who let a girl getting choked 10 seconds AFTER she was out and he didn’t get any suspension or fine but he clearly is an incometent.I tink the ref in that fight was Rosenthal,he never stops a fight early,some people like him for that,I think he’s dangerous.I fa guy falls like that you tolerate 3-4 hits and if he’s still not moving you stop the fight.I’m sure there wouldn’t have ben punches after the elbow and Munoz would still be out.

Why the F*** would bisping be next for chris? Bisping is a really crappy fighter, who just poses issues with his style for people like tito was for a while. Bisping will never beat any worth person. Impressive from Weidman, he might have been able to defeat Silva if it wasn’t for the Sonnen fights.
I mean he looks like a really good wrestler and he’s able to finish fights but Sonnen kinda helped Silva improve a lot on his takedown defense, he made him work a lot on that. We haven’t seen it a lot but he was able to counter Sonnen’s 2nd round takedown and finished it standing, the same thing would happen to Weidman.
