Wow, very nice submission. Can’t remember the last time I saw an Americana by thigh submission lol. That has to be the single most most under utilized technique in MMA. Fights end up in that position all the time and its so easy to do. Well done.

the reason why keylocks are so under utilized in MMA is because against experience fighters or fighters who are stronger than you, it is very hard to pull off. You can notice that as MMA has evolved as a sport and the fighters raise the level of competition and become more diversified in their skills, that americana’s/keylocks have become very uncommon. Kimuras are less common than they used to be too, but they don’t require as much physcial strength.
All that said, the way he executed his americana is the most likely way to do it successfully against good competition, but it is still difficult to catch a guys arm that way with experienced grrapplers.
Striegl is a stud. 12-0 with 10 subs.
