vanderlei got robbed… I remember this fight… Even bass rutten was surprised Hunt got the decision

Silva won that fight but on 3 days notice Hunt did a great job. Hunt had very little experience back in 2004, this was only his 3rd MMA fight. Silva was regarded as one of the best on the planet.

What a great fight. Excited to see both these guys tonight. Though I think Hunt has a far better chance to win than Wanderlei. This fight was actually the start of Silva’s career downslide.

Mark hunt whooped his ass dropped him damn near every round! Silva took him down and did no damage at all. Just got reversed and lost the upper position. It’s worse to take someone down, do no damage then get reversed.

Silva did virtually no damage in that fight while Hunt kicked the crap out of him standing in the first two rounds. Also, Hunt dropped Silva twice in the 1st and once in the 2nd. I barely gave the overall fight to Hunt.
One question I have is who did Hunt replace in this fight?

Gotta remember guys, PRIDE was about striking and damage. They were popular because they pushed the guys to fight. Wanderlei did not do much damage and Hunt kept dropping him with punches.
