I could see that coming! Log in to Reply Dave March 3, 2013 this kid never learns to keep his distance, with such long limbs he could easily stay far back and pick his opponents apart but he hasn’t got it. Log in to Reply cagerage March 3, 2013 HOLY SHIT! F()CKING AWESOME! WAR MARK HUNT. sick left hand Log in to Reply James March 3, 2013 Wow!! Hunt has one hell of a shot. Log in to Reply TheKungFuLowKick March 3, 2013 @Dave It’s easy to say,but Struve isn’t an NBA type athlete where they are 7ft tall but still can run and move fast.Struve is a slow sluggish giant. Log in to Reply boonching March 3, 2013 daaaam!! hunt vs big country Log in to Reply Wow March 3, 2013 wth is up with struve wow. hmm let’s just keep my hands extremely low… Log in to Reply c hill March 3, 2013 for those of you new to mark hunt. He was one of the best in pride. A classic Pride fighter. The same pride which dana talked shit on saying their fighters would neve beat his before buying it. First guy i saw take a head kick from cro cop and just stand there. Few people could beat hunt in the day. He was top 3 or so. TRUE STORY He pulled off something called the autonomic butt drop in a fight where he jumped in the air while an opponent was on the ground and landed on him with his butt. The autonomic butt drop was coined. Never again to be duplicated lol. Hunt in his time was no joke, looks like he’s kickin some younger guys asses cheers.;) Log in to Reply Tesla March 3, 2013 Aside from him gassing, No one, and I mean NO ONE, should ever stand and bang with Mark Hunt. Seriously, that dude is the definition of having an iron chin. If he can take a PRIME Cro Cop head kick and laugh, do think he couldn’t take a Junior Dos Santos punch and then hit back. Seriously scary power. Good to see him work on his ground game. Nice win Log in to Reply Doyle Brubson March 3, 2013 ^ The atomic butt drop was done vs Wanerlei Silva Log in to Reply corey March 3, 2013 Hell of a KO but both fighters looked awkward through the whole thing. Saw this coming because struve did next to nothing to block or evade these bombs the entire fight… hoping that mark would, i dont know, trip? I know guys this big aren’t much for cardio, but the kind of pace and aggression here seems miles behind the talents of your top ten in the weight class. Log in to Reply greengiant March 3, 2013 @TheKungFuLowKick – NBA 7 footers are not that athletic man.The 6 footers are way better athletes. Log in to Reply PitfighterZ March 3, 2013 @c hill: I think you mean he was one of the best in K-1. In Pride and in Dream, he won a few historical fights (Cro Cop and Wanderlei), but was not a top 3 fighter. He didn’t have any ground game. The guy is awesome and one of my favorite fighters in K-1 and MMA, but he was not THAT good in Pride. He is a much better MMA fighter now, in the UFC, then he ever was in Pride. Oh, and whoever wants to see the ATOMIC butt drop against Wanderlei Silva, it’s here. http://www.mmatko.com/mark-hunt-vs-wanderlei-silva-fight-video-pride-shockwave-2004/ Log in to Reply 123 March 3, 2013 It was called the atomic butt drop and the opponent was none other than Wanderlei Silva. Wanderlei Silva has not been the same since, lmao… Log in to Reply freee March 3, 2013 like chopping a tree down Log in to Reply c hill March 3, 2013 Pitfighter. get off ur highhorse. it’s not a pissing contest. but if it was I could still win First: I really could care less if someone knows more about hunt then me. I don’t profile him cause he’s not my favorite fighter, just one I certainly like. If ur a super fan good for you but I was trying to enlighten some and study the broad range of fighters, not sight hunts favorite breakfast cereals. second: I disagree on the pride comment you made. Your simply looking at his losing streak record which is the mistake many MMA fans make even ceo’s of mma make regarding the caliber of a fighter. how can I say that… If a fan simply looks at his losing streak in pride they must assume he was never top ten. Mistake! A real educated observer can observe the caliber of fighter he was beating and the level of technique being applied in specific times or even fighters he was dominating before just losing at the end. This is the same mistake dana white made regarding John Fitch. Dana is not a smart MMA fan. He has to go off a record or use it to justify. Eric Silva for instance that night would have destroyed 90% of the welterweights in existence in the UFC today even though it was his UFC debut. His level of fighting that night was unbelievable and in a way it was an upset that Fitch beat him. It was amazing Fitch took him out, damn near believable he crushed the star. Silva looked so exceptional he could have whipped the top guys minus GSP. But dana being ignorent said .. Eric was a no name with only one fight. this discredits eric silvas true ability. A real fighter recognized his unbelievable skill level regardless of his record. Same with Damian Mia vs Fitch. Damian is coming into his own. He may have challenged GSP on the ground that night. He was that good. few people on the planet convey that level of ground skill, few in the ufc!!! but an ignorent fan just says. Damian’s not that good so fitch should have beat him. again you just can’t go on records. But if we’re going to look at records we should observe the caliber of fighter hunt was beating during a specific time period in pride. He had a major losing streak in pride and though his record may not have impressed you and he got on a losing streak, there was a period where he beat wanderlei, when the axe murderer hadn’t lost a fight in over 16 straight battles. Wanderlei had never been better and was among the pound for pound elite of that time. It was his biggest prime and most dominate streak and hunt broke it. That shows you where hunt was, easily putting him in the top tear of heavy weights/light heavy weights. Now in that same period Hung Beat Cro Cop in a decision. Well it’s only one win right over cro cop right and crop cop isn’t that great right..?? wrong. Cro cop was in his prime then. its huge.. lets look at cro cop then.. Crop cop ranked #2 then among heavy weights of the world only losing to fedor in his last 9 fights. Hunt beats him. when you watch several of hunts losses he still challenged guys before giving up the submission to guys that were not being challenged then. Wanderlei easily in the top 5 pound for pound fighters then, losses to hunt cro cop ranked #2 among ALL heavy weights then losses to hunt. so in 2004 in pride i consider hunt top 3 among the heavy weights and even challenging the pound for pound list Log in to Reply c hill March 3, 2013 so in summary to say he was not that good in pride is absolutely ridiculous. Log in to Reply chiroguy March 3, 2013 c hill…you need to get laid bro! Log in to Reply purebadass March 3, 2013 ^had 70lbs on wandi and the first fight wand got robbed. Log in to Reply str8jkt March 3, 2013 c hill, please don’t ever post again Log in to Reply c hill March 4, 2013 purebadass. they fought at lightheavyweight. no silva was not robbed. He lost the decision. It wasn’t a fluke. Don’t be an idiot and try to explain it away. Wandi would have destroyed a lot of heavyweights in his reign of terror. but mark stopped him. cro cop was unbelievable.. but hunt stopped him. This is unbelievable. and sad you would excuse it away. it’s like a fighter today defeating Junior Dos Santos.. and taking out Dan Henderson on top of that.. and then people saying that fighter wasn’t any good. Log in to Reply Yoplait March 4, 2013 ^ Nice short story… I read about ten words. Do you at least feel important?
