The “guard” position was so pathetic.Why would a guy in side control go back to a standing guard and lethimself get leglocked like that??I can’t believe Pride would put fixed fights in a real MMA event and make a japanese win against an American top fighter…

All Takada’s fights were fixed. He was a Bushido star who never really learn to fight. Severn came from the same show, but he at least had some real catch wrestling background.
That’s pretty much why I think Rickson Gracie never really had an MMA record, differently from his brothers and cousins, even though people back then idolized him. Rickson was a street fighter, but he only had a few meaningless MMA bouts. Including 2 against this clown (Takada).
But, that doesn’t reflect on all Pride fights. All Pride fixed fights were very easy to spot. Pretty much like Bob Sapp’s fights nowadays.
The “fix” was for entertainment, bringing some fake fights into the real fighting realm.

the fight was fixed yes, but don’t blame it on Pride, blame it on the guys who took the money and kept their mouths shut. Japan has a tradition of “shoot style/pro-wrestling” exhibition matches, personnaly I think those fights are funny + the commentators wondering what the heck is going on! this is too good!

What’s funny is Bas Rutten learned the fight was fixed,he got asked who do you thnik will win and he said Takada at 6 minutes by leglock.HAHAHA he almost lost his job there.

Pride had some s*** sandwich fights from time to time(real fight,fixed fight,real fight) but discrediting pride is ridiculous.

What makes you guys think the UFC fights are not fixed? Some of the judging from UFC events look very very questionable to me!
