Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao and Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton weigh-in for Saturday’s Boxing match.
The bout has the makings of a classic because, as with Pacquiao’s fight against De La Hoya, there is doubt over whether the Pacman, who started his career 14 years ago at 112lb and has won world titles at four weights, can keep defying the scales. He did then, because De La Hoya was wrecked by boiling down below the 147lb limit.

Boxers get paid more because boxing has been around for a hundred years. The promoters make a lot more and the boxers see more of the money. MMA fighters can’t make that kinda money because the promoters have a much harder time promoting the events and they spend more on the production.
Boxers don’t get more because of the amount of years the sport has been around, it comes down to the business model. If you look at the payday that Affliction fighters get it is much more than UFC fighters, and that is for one simple reason…business model. UFC spends more money on marketing/promotion than it does on its fighters. Boxing business model: 80% fighters and 20% marketing. UFC:20% fighters and 80% marketing.
I am a UFC fan, but I still see the flaws in Dana’s business model.

of course Dana is ripping guys off, can you honestly justify paying a man as little as 2500 to 5000 or even 10k for training for months and getting his face all smashed in by basically bare hands?
and another thing boxing doesnt out sell ufc. in 2008 for the whole year the ufc had 100 million more ppv buys than hbo boxing it was like 300 somethin mill for hbo and 400 for ufc but boxers get around a third of the sales so if a lot of people order they can get over 10 mil a fight when in the ufc dana will only give maybee half a mill to the fighters and his punk ass gets the rest regardless of how many sales there is
p.s. affliction is running there organization like boxing thats why they got golden boy promotions in there. fedor gets a cut of the ppv buys but affliction aint on the level of the ufc yet as far as sales go but he still made more in his last fight than anyone in the ufc does simply for that reason

Boxers make more because they can. Boxing has been main stream for a longer time. A much longer time.
Stop hating on Dana White, Fedor can only make so much money because of the work Dana and the UFC has put in making MMA main stream.
The UFC is king and fighters want to be there because they know they have a better shot at being rewarded decently for their fights, while continuing to fight good opposition. Affliction will be out of business soon! How can you pay fighter salaries of 3.5 million when you only made 2.75 million? You guys go ahead and love affliction until they are gone.
Also, all boxers are not making 12 million a fight, 1 million a fight or anything close to that, we just hear about the top grossers and assume everyone is making that coin…not true.

boxing is the most pure sport out there. if any1 talks shit about boxing its simply because they are ignorant. any mma fighter has mad respect for the sport. if boxing is so lame then go to a boxing gym and give it a try i bet you will repect the sport….maby even fear it ya pussys.

what’s ridiculous is your spelling. and yes, your little hatton did a great job. he did a great job cleaning the floor with his face. and don’t even come up with an excuse for your fighter losing. pacquiao is pound for pound the king of boxing. who says otherwise knows nothing about the sport. who looks foolish now, little boy?
