Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez 3 Fight Video Boxing

its just ridiculous. Ive been a boxing fan longer than an MMA even but this is the last straw for me…we might as well be watching WWE when things are this fixed. Its a disgrace and a real shame.

i find 9 times out of 10 your not going to win a belt by decision but I don’t think the judges were fair here…one of the judges scored this 116 – 112 ?? hahaha Your doing a bang up job there buddy! Enjoy that bribe money

Dude, all you guys are biased like crazy. Robbery? Give me a break. That fight was won by Pacman. Even if some of the judges gave too many rounds to Pacman, the overall fight was his. He is the champ, you got to win decisively against the champ and Marquez did not do that.

First of all, I enjoyed watching the fight between these 2 skilled boxers. Here’s my take from what I saw…Marquez landed the noticeably bigger shots throughout the fight, although they weren’t extremely consistent or very damaging. Manny went forward the entire fight and his ring generalship most likely earned him the decision. Right or wrong, it is well known that you have to decisively take the belt from the champ and that didn’t happen. I have seen many decisions that make this one look absolutely legitimate, this is definitely not the biggest robbery. I would have to watch again and keep a scorecard, but I don’t even think 116-112 is all that heinous because so many rounds could have gone either way. Point blank, don’t leave it to the judges.

This fight should been a draw, Period! Even Freddy Roach said at the post conference that this fight was closer than the first two. The judge with 116-112 is a joke. Great fight by two warriors. I say part 4 is needed. I rather see these warriors go at it instead of watching mayweather. He is a wasted cheapshot bum.

I watched this for the 4th time and i never had JMM winning the fight……i scored it 115-113 for pacquiao.

He was the aggressor, he showed ring generalship, and the compubox numbers show it as well.

This is like what happened to De La Hoya when he fought Tito. Gil Clancy told him to box and not try to go for the KO. Robert Alcazar was also goading De La Hoya into just dancing away after they said he had “won” the first 7 rounds. You don’t want to do that a in close fight. Dammit Nacho!

thanks for the post bruno; a few thoughts.

this is a great example of everything that’s right and everything that’s wrong with boxing. what’s right is that, it was a great matchup, and fairly entertaining.

what’s wrong is the blatant favoritism shown towards pacquiao. what the hell does marquez have to do to get a break? i had him up 8 rounds to 4… and i like pacquiao! at worst, it should’ve been called a majority draw.

but don’t let this fool you: mayweather is nothing like marquez. styles make fights, i still say pacquiao has the kind of style that could give mayweather fits. still, after seeing this, i would put my money on mayweather. should they actually fight.

I’m sorry, but Pacquiao won. Marquez should’ve gone out on his shield and should’ve have been more assertive to fight Pacquiao. He should’ve just tried to engage more instead of sitting back and he paid for it on the judges scorecards. It was close, he made Pacquiao look human and he fought him on a more competitive plane, but he gave rounds away.

very close fight, the decision was just. Pacquiao out punched JMM, and lets not forget he is the champ. You have to beat the champ in order to become the champ & at no point did he do that.

On a side note, fights like this really show how far off MMA is from being a top tier sport.

I definitely think the fight could have been scored in favour of Marquez, or a draw, or a slight advantage to Manny. This is similar to Shogun/Machida in my mind (everyone screaming robbery but personally don’t feel that way)

Name a African American Manny has fought other than Mosley after Mayweather already sent into retirement? All he has done was dodge them. Floyd has submitted to olympic style blood test for years simply to clean up the sport of boxing because the people at the top want PEDS in the sport because brutality sales tickets. Fight was boring. I used to love boxing 10 years ago, before I had any better fighting sports to watch.

Every time I give it a go and watch a match, hoping it will reignite some nostalgic feelings I’m reminded of why it was so easy to stop watching in the first place. At least this bout didn’t end in complete disgrace like so many others.

And what the F*** is wrong with Jim Lampley now? His commentating was never so high strung years ago. Now he’s yelling like a mad man every time a guy lands a jab. Annoying as hell.

Not to mention his assessment of the fight was off the mark.

I had Marquez winning 3 rounds (maybe 4). Pacquiao was far busier, landed more punches, and was the aggresor, period! Bob Arum (or whatever his name is) after the fight saying “we can do it again” goes to show you how garbage boxing really is. A 4th fight between Pacquiao and Marquez, really? Just shut up and give the people what they want, Pacquiao vs Mayweather! It’s no wonder that the UFC’s taken over for years now…

Bruno: I am a southpaw and used to step on peoples feet all the time. Just part of the sport. If both fighters duck and lunge a lot it happens quite a bit. I would put step in leg deep enough inside their knee to make them back out to my power side. If the ref let it go on there was no reason for Marquez to stop.

Why Manny won:
In a 10-point system, the boxer who wins a round is given 10 points, and the other boxer gets nine points. (10 -9)
If there was a knockdown in the round (10-8)
2 knock downs (10-7)
If a judge can’t decide who won the round, it is scored 10-10.
Now if u are the challenger, u must be the aggressor (Pacquiao vs Cotto) in very close rounds the Champion gets the 10. For example if Pacquiao would just stay still and Marquez does not attack, Pacquiao gets the 10 and Marquez 9. In this case Manny(champion) was always aggressive while Marquez(challenger) waits for an attack and counters.
Marquez’s body language fooled a lot of people. Making people feel that he was the winner or at least it was a draw. It may look like he was landing more punches but the tricky part here is he was on the defensive, luring pacquiao into his tactical traps (remember the challenger must be the one who is aggressive to be awarded 10 ). So even if Marquez did connect more punches he gets only 9 for being defensive and manny gets the 10 for being the attacker.
Pacquiao got more “10″s than Marquez. Manny wins.

THERE WILL BE NO PACQUIAO VS MARQUEZ III if one of the judge from their first fight scores it right. 2 of the judges there score pacquiao 10-7 because he knock down marquez 3 times in the 1st round of their first fight. But 1 judge scored it 10-8 and the match became a DRAW. So if there is to be blaim, dont blaim the fighters blaim the f****** judges.

Todays steroids can only be detected via random olympic style blood testing! Manny Pacman is on steroids thats why he refuses all random olympic style test. manny won. Certainly it was close and if JMM had of got it I could see how but those claiming Robbery are just so far off the mark. JMM did land the more powerful shots and his timing on the counter was excellent but Manny is the champ, controlled the ring, was more offensive, created the fight and JUST won by 2rounds imo.

DD your boxing background doesn’t give you any more credibility. People judging and commentating the fight are way more qualified to do this. After watching this fight 3 times, I still think that the result is absolutely fair. It could be a draw just to satisfy the public and Marquez’s corner, but draws don’t win belts. Pacman landed more and was more aggressive through the fight. He fought the way Marquez should have been fighting. Marquez wasn’t fighting to win the belt, he was fighting not to lose again.
