A very beautiful fight with 2 great boxers. Sorry guys but MMA stand up is horrible. BUT boxing is very boring nowadays with mediocre fighters . Nex boxers will come and boxing will rise again. But MMA is a new sport and fighters are talented. Even if I don’t like when it goes on the ground,I like watching MMA fights. Both disciplines are very different and i think each one should stay in his discipline. Apples and oranges. Is an MMA fighters standup worse than a boxers ground game? Who would win in a FIGHT? Am I being ridiculous, YES I AM, just as are all people who compare the two sports. I want to know who wins a fight, so I watch MMA. That being said, watching the hand techniques of boxers is amazing, just as beautiful as watching a beautiful technical grappling game, or a fantastic war of Muay Thai. Each are beautiful in their own regards. Log in to Reply greengiant November 24, 2013 Dank you said it. Who will win a real fight? Almost always an MMA guy. Don’t count an mma guy out on the feet against a boxer either, its different stance and different movement. Its like what would happen most likely in the streets vs what would happen if you limit a fighter to 2 weapons. Log in to Reply Noel November 24, 2013 I grew up with boxing so watching mma was torture for me at first. It drove me crazy to see guys with weak chins and no technique try to box but the more I learned about mma, the more I came to appreciate it. The bad boxing technique (offensively and defensively) can still frustrate me but I consider myself a fan of mma. Log in to Reply Noel November 24, 2013 @greengiant- there’s a reason you don’t see dedicated mma fighters in K1 or boxing matches: they get beat up. Even Anderson Silva who is considered the best boxer in mma, is a nonfactor as a boxer. It’s a joke when Rampage or JDS or Jon Jones call out a boxer just because they train boxing for a few months and think they have skills. It’s as stupid as when James Toney stepped into the octagon against Couture. Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim November 24, 2013 mma fighters have 10x better standup than boxers. mma gloves are 10x more devastating than boxing pillows err i mean gloves. Even if it were punching only I would still pick an mma guy over a boxer as long as the boxer wears boxing gloves and the mma guy wears mma gloves. boxing defense is way overrated because of the gigantic gloves which allow you to take 50 unanswered blows before you go down. boxing is a sport for thugs, women beaters and the minority criminal class. mma is for x-teachers, good ol farmboys and overall nice christian boys from Iowa to Oregon. The rugby dude is thinking that soccer is “boring” because that soccer dude does’t pick up the ball and run with it to score. Or better yet, the soccer dude wonders why they don’t use a round ball in rugby? Stupid comment from top to bottom. Put the bong down, smokinjoe and watch a little tennis. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick November 24, 2013 I would bet all my money that in a real fight the MMA fighter would still put the boxer to sleep standing up. Everyone knows kickboxing > boxing and you add the hesitation of getting taken down and being 100% helpless there. A couple of leg kicks to the boxer who puts all his weight on his legs and the boxer won’t be able to move or put power in his punches. Oscar de la Hoya said he would get his ass kicked in a street fight for these reasons so I can’t imagine what would happen against a trained fighter. Log in to Reply keulniss November 24, 2013 Wow, some of you are pretty dumb. MMA guys don’t have “bad boxing technique” you fools. They are not boxing. If they used proper “boxing technique” they’d get their ass handed to them in seconds. They are using a hybrid technique which mitigates other aspects of MMA as well, like not being kicked, clinched with, or taken down. You know what, never mind. Log in to Reply dreameracer1 November 25, 2013 i am sure with manny skills and his speed, if he ever been train in mma he’ll do just fine, as well ass any great mma fighters. you will always be good at what you do over and ever again, that’s why you’re doing it. just keep it up and your skill won’t fail you. no need to arguing in here. put your groves and action where your mouth run. Log in to Reply paddedummy November 26, 2013 MMA is what a real fight would look like? Really? Maybe in an upper middle class suburb if the street fight was between two ten year old kids. How does someone witness how boxers get completely dominated by mma guys because mma has fewer rules, yet still thinks that a mma player would win against a guy who does whatever he wants? A “street fighter” (as in a guy who wins multiple fights aginst complete strangers without any rules or preparation) sucker punches his victims, kicks the balls, gouges the eyes and that is only when he doesn’t have the opportunity to use a weapon. A “trained fighter” has bad habits drilled into him until they become a reflex which often makes him get hurt worse in a street fight than a guy who has no trainig at all! The sport style training gives meathead jocks a false sense of confidence and cockiness, removes natural reflexes like flinching and turning away when a strike is thrown at his face which is detrimental when your enemy is trying to put his fingers in your eyes! If you think a boxer’s stance leaves him open to leg kicks and wrestling takedowns, see how far you get with an mma/kickboxing stance against a guy who is throwing kicks at your nuts. There are countless examples of UFC fights where a player gets completely shut down by an accidental d1ck kick or eye poke and then Rogan whines like a little b1tch about the fingerlees gloves. Oscar Delahoya is smart enough not to get himself killed by a thug but you retards are delusional! Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
