Log in to Reply jon November 19, 2013 since when does a challenger who lost the championship fight get an automatic rematch… the fight was close, GSP would get a bruise on on his face if u sneezed on him to close, and he is a fair complected guy, so. JH tried to be to cute the whole fight rather than takin it to GSP the whole fight… bottom line JH should take another top 3 fighter on and finish him impressively then demand the rematch, until then stop cryin… Log in to Reply T'Challa November 19, 2013 GSP doesn’t owe anybody anything, and no fighter in the history of the UFC has conducted themselves with more class and respect. It’s entirely up to him if he wants to fight again. Log in to Reply Joe Dog November 19, 2013 Remember, the UFC is a private company designed to make as much money as possible. Does anyone suspect that this drama could be orchestrated to lead up to an epic money making rematch. Log in to Reply Joe Dog November 19, 2013 ???? Log in to Reply mac November 19, 2013 GSP should do whatever he likes. He owes the UFC nothing, Johny Hendricks nothing and has been making the UFC huge amounts of money for years. If he has some personal issues to deal with so be it. Those who didn’t agree with the decision should be pissed off at the judges not GSP. GSP has been a class act his whole career and the UFC should be thankful for that. Just look at who would have been representing the UFC had GSP not beat them. Wow say thank you Dana, GSP OWES SQUAT. Log in to Reply ustabeluke November 19, 2013 This is really pissing me off, Ariel pushing this idea that GSP owes everyone to fight again. Joe Rogan has been suggesting that GSP may have brain damage due to the punches he’s been taking. How the F*%k can anyone suggest GSP owes ANYONE including the UFC more fights? Why should he take more damage to make anyone happy? It’s f*%^ing stupid. Log in to Reply ustabeluke November 19, 2013 In addition, I use to have respect and admiration for Arial for what he has made for himself as a MMA journalist. But more and more, and especially after this bul$*^t, he can go stuff himself for all I care. Log in to Reply bigFishLittlepond November 19, 2013 Joe Dog – Yes. So many GSP apologists here. I would rather have a champ who tries to finish fights over a guy who purposely fights safe. I don’t care if a fighter is a dick or what his personality is like. I don’t watch fight for a fighters code of conduct. Interesting people will apologize for a fighter being safe or boring but then condemn fighters for having raw personalities. I think you should watch a different sport maybe tennis. Log in to Reply ThatGuy November 19, 2013 The hell do you mean GSP owes UFC squat. That is like saying the egg owes the chicken squat. UFC would have existed and done very well (though not hardly as well admittedly) without GSP. He owes everything his name is to the UFC. If you are a true fan of the sport then show some respect to the people that made this organization what it is today. Log in to Reply mac November 19, 2013 Not talking about Condit or Hendricks being poor reps for the UFC they seem like class acts as well. Thinking more of guys that shoot their mouths off and guys that give everyone the bird..no need to mention names. Log in to Reply jammyman November 19, 2013 GSP owes no one a rematch and besides he’s not retiring for good as he says. Give GSP a break he’s been on top of the game for too long. Log in to Reply Benny November 19, 2013 So Dana said that it comes down to damage, right? hasn’t been a ton of fights where the fighter that takes a beatdown ended up winning? e.i=almost of the Diego Sanchez fights! He’s looks like he got beat with baseball bat yet he wins! not in his last fight against Gil but they have been plenty of instances with him and other fighters.. Don’t the statistics count? GSP landed more overall, but Hendricks did more damage, that’s it.. I thought Hendricks won when I saw the fight live, then saw the replay and thought GSP won rounds 1,3&5… Hendricks manager has the personality of a wall,GSP won, take it or leave bitches!!! Log in to Reply Punchemhard November 20, 2013 Ted Erhardt should just go **** himself. GSP had no say in voting of this match! If he wants to rake some time off, and maybe retire, he owes no one anything! Not the UFC or Mr Hendricks. 2 of the 3 judges said Georges won. Thats how democracy works! Suck it up, go win some fights and hope GSP comes back and is silling to gives you a fight. Would like to see GSp fight Lawler! Log in to Reply wreckitralph November 20, 2013 I think you guys see only half of it. The UFC made GSP who he is today. You think he is as rich and famous if he fought anywhere else? You think he becomes a great a fighter without the competition in the ufc? This relationship goes both ways. I think GSP sees he isnt dominant anymore and wants to quit before someone makes their name off him. Let him go. I dont see why Hendricks cares. Im sure he fights for vacated title. GSP I hope you have a happy life after fighting Log in to Reply eyesawake November 20, 2013 what’s the consensus here? I agree JH won the fight, but not by all that much. Do you guys all see it as the blowout it’s being touted as? Sure, GSP looked battered, but don’t some guys cut super-easily? I remember Diaz had an issue with that, and Edgar’s face is practically made of wrapping paper, while other fighters take huge shots and don’t mark up at all. Just saying, yes, a bad decision. But the media’s acting like GSP got knocked out cold and then kept the belt. Log in to Reply solomon954 November 20, 2013 GSP doesn’t owe us shit. He’s been the classiest champion in history. And been hasn’t been beaten in over 7 years!! If he wants to retire. Enjoy it man… U deserve it. Log in to Reply OscarMayhem November 20, 2013 @eyesawake He was almost finished twice, did the chicken dance, forgot where he was at one point, and barely scratched his opponent, and was booed. It was not about how visibly messed up he was in the face, it was how actually messed up he ended up. He went to the hospital and barely made it to the post fight conf, where he wanted nothing more than retire and time shift. Log in to Reply yo November 20, 2013 He beat everyone who is anyone in his division hope he retires cant stand his style makes for boring fights, GSP won his last fight go watch it again count the strikes for yourself don’t believe what the numbers on the TV say GSP hit Hendricks more he pushed the pace hardly ever was he backing up, the only time he wasn’t in control was when they were in the clinch. Gustafson deserves a rematch with jones now that was a close fight. Log in to Reply DNOMYAR November 20, 2013 Gotta agree with almost every comment. JH himself said at the press conference that he only gave 70%. He was saving himself, WTF! OK, the judges suck, we all know that. Perhaps JH should have given 100% and finished. His whining is getting very old, fast. GSP owes nothing, and suggesting he’s being disrespectful is, at least, disrespectful. Log in to Reply ustabeluke November 20, 2013 Dana White and A.H need to S>T>F>U, the fighters did their job, if anyone owes anyone it’s the state of Nevada or Dana needs to stop whining and f#$%ing do something about the problem. I can’t count the times he said it not up to him to fix, if not the UFC the who??? Take a stand and boycott the state, stop bring in revenue for the state, that would be a start. Come up with a better way to score the fights! Start by organizing a think tank of top level fighters, trainers, referees, fans. Figure it out, it’s not brain surgery. Log in to Reply vin November 20, 2013 gsp is the paper champ. Log in to Reply jammyman November 20, 2013 GSP should be paid as much as Pacquiao. UFC pays shit to one of the greatest MMA stars of all time. Dana owes GSP at least 20 million. GSP owes the UFC none but gratitutde. If he wants to retire then let him be. Let him retire while he is on top. Smart guy but will be missed! Log in to Reply darby November 20, 2013 hedricks should fight rick story and avenge that loss first then come back after GSP Log in to Reply Joe Dog November 21, 2013 Hendricks…future champ with nicotine addiction. Strange. Log in to Reply zagor November 21, 2013 This whining is getting really old very fast…and all because of fight that 90% fans agree that only one round out of five is controversial….GSP doesn’t owe anything…if he was on a losing streak UFC would let him go, just like everyone else….Dana should shut up, we’ve heard him hundred times saying “don’t leave it in the hands of the judges”….now he is singing a different tune?! Log in to Reply ronmar November 21, 2013 @mac, I couldn’t agree with you more. He doesn’t owe anybody anything! The UFC can fire their fighter at will, and that seems to be ok with the UFC. So, therefore a fighter can also retire and leave the sport at will. Log in to Reply mac November 21, 2013 What I mean (thatguysays) is that GSP has fought everyone put in front of him for years, all the top guys. If he cares to step away or retire that should be fine with the UFC. The fact that the judges scored it for GSP is not his fault. If his head and heart are not in the sport anymore its time to get out before he gets hurt. Dana White owes it to the fighters to do something about the judging. Change the scoring rules, fight location etc but stop complaining and do something about it. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
