That countdown to UFC 104 last night made me see lyoto machida in a great new light. He seems so very humble, and he’s not afraid of anything. He embodies the true spirit of a fighter, and a champion. Unlike Anderson Silva, he’s trying hard to work on his english, and I can actually understand him now. Though I hate the fact that they attribute his skills to Karate. Granted his stance is almost like a karate form, what his hands being somewhat low and wide, and his back is straight, but his footwork is like that of muay thai mixed with some of jeet kune do’s in and out style, his strikes are definitely muay thai

Lyoto Machida is a humble guy and an example of a typical Brazilian. In their culture a up-nose guy is excluded, in America the same kind of person becames popular among his friends. If you see Brazilian Fighters speaking before the fight, you will notice that. Explains a lot why they dominate some sports like Volleyball, soccer and MMA.
Im just sad to see him fighting Shogun. I like both.
