I remember seeing this fight when I first watched every fight I could find on Bonnar before bonnar vs griffin 1.

Had no idea who machida was at that point but was impressed nonetheless!

Thats when Stephan was in his prime too. I’m sure his skills weren’t as sharp as they were when he Fought Forrest but he was getting there and he hardly touched Lyoto. This is going to be an awesome fight. I’m going for the “Dragon” in the 4th round by TKO.

Bonner’s best attributes are his tremendous chin and tolerance to pain. It’s unbelievable how much punishment he can absorb. Looked like a ref/doctor stoppage. You could tell Bonner still wanted to go. Nice clinch knees to Lyoto’s face before they got stopped the 3rd time. Machida picked him apart. You could tell Bonner’s corner was telling him to throw combinations and lead with his jab while they were fixing his nose. Soon as he was good to go, Bonner ran right out there and tried leading with his jab right away. I think people need to be light on their feet and lead with their jab and use front/leg kicks to be effective against Lyoto’s standup.

I’d like to see GSP fight Lyoto Machida sometime at a catch weight of 185. I think it’d be spectacular.

I watched MMA live with Boner talking about his fight with Machida, he was making it sound like Machida was just scoring points and running away, looks like Machida kicked his ass pretty bad to me and I didn’t see much “running”. Boners face at the end of the fight can’t deny that he got lit up.

picked apart…pretty much like every fighter that Lyoto ever faced….Evans will do no better.

what i don’t understand is why mayweather, who is one of the greatest boxers of all time gets criticized by some of u machida nutt-huggers when they have very similiar styles in avoiding taking unecessary damage. when mayweather does it it’s running, when machida does it it’s strategic. in my opinion they both run, but do it for personal safety and fight strategy. evans has the speed and intellect to counter or catch lyoto with something. we know about evans’chin, but trust me when i say we’re about to find out about machidas’.

I agree, Greg Jackson will come up with a strategy for Evans to find Machidas dome.

Bomberb Says, in 5-23-2009 at 13:10:33 from

Evans is too strong and his cardio is way better i cant see how machida can win given the people evans has already f***** up!
