wtf is that at the end…the dude pretending to punch machida?
He appeared to really be punching him. Maybe he was pissed because Lyoto couldn’t finish the fight?
Its antonio anoki, he was a very famous wrestler in japan… I have no idea why he did that though!
what was that shit 10:22 into the video!?!?!? IS that guy just showing how strong/tuff he is and that he can take a hit or is this some BS asian WWE acting?
It’s what Antonio Inioki is famous for, that’s the way he gives blessing so if you’re punched by him it’s a big honour! Machida was hanging out with Inioki at the time too..
wow Jamie O
It would make sense.
I never heard something like that.
I must admit it was weird
Thats so stupid what Antonio Inioki does, hes just a power crazed ape chin prick who likes to hurt people. Machida would kick his ass if it wasn’t ….. a big Honor….
Lol at the commercials
Lol, what a great honor, to win a fight then get your ass kicked by Anoki. I’ve heard he actually fought an exhibition match against Ali back in the day, in which he crawled around crab style the whole time kicking Ali in the legs, don’t know if there’s any truth to that or not. Has anyone else ever heard that?
Wtf was that? Why didn’t dude punch him back?
It’s a thing that Antonio Inoki does. It started when Inoki visited a school in the 80’s. A kid punched him twice so Inoki slapped him down to the ground. The kid was actually an Inoki fan and he bowed and thanked Inoki for the slap. So since that day it was known as an honor to be slapped by Inoki. Others in wrestling and MMA adopted the Inoki slap. You’ll most likely see it when a student wins his first fight or an important fight. And at that time Machida fought for Team Inoki. And so hence the slapping and punching. He was also called the “Second Inoki” in Japan. So I hope this clears things up for u guys.
The Underboss of the Yakuza at 0:25!
Steamer Bean,
It’s too long to explain, but Wikipedia has a great explanation of the Ali-Inoki fiasco.
Let me smack you around and it’s all in your honor!
