Great submission scramble, sometimes it was difficult to see who was in control. Almost an A-Z of submissions. Interesting score system too. Top Upload.

Is this like…. the fake profressional wrestling or the real deal, because honestly.. I cant tell. Leg kicks allowed… any hand striking, not allowed? What event is this? what are the rules? Red trunks threw a punch at 3:32… first punch of the fight. red trunks is the only one throwing any strikes, lots of kicks. What in the hell is happening at 5:37-5:41????? 8:40; freakin hillarious. At 10:50… its like everyone stopped caring about the rules? Entertaining for sure… just not sure what it is.

But maybe givent the fact they have 10 escapes, they wanted to have something else which had in their mind more chance to end the fight.

this is the japanese equivelant of the wwf/wwe. some of the fakest, corniest shit ive seen in a while. there was like 45 armbars that didn’t end the fight. when volk had the rear naked choke and the japanese guy pushed his elbows into volks thighs to break out . . lmfao. . . and it worked!!

Answer: Tamura crosses Han’s feet for him, and then crosses his own and extends out his legs/puts pressure onto Han’s now crossed feet, which is a defense for the choke..and you will break the other guy’s ankle or w/e before you yourself get choked out..I saw it on Bas Rutten’s big dvd’s of combat :)

i’m so confused. can some1 clarify? Is this Real or Fake? A good majority of those submissions looked real but they didn’t seem to finish the opponent (so i thought it was fake). But those open palm strikes and that brutal kick to Hans stomach! That looked so real. Then again, some1 above said the guy later got hit with a chair so i’m presuming the whole things fake??

Bruno: This may give you some idea why RINGS fights look the way they do. — RINGS was a Japanese professional wrestling promotion and later a mixed martial arts organization from 1991 to 2002. It was founded by Akira Maeda on May 11, 1991, following the dissolution of the Newborn UWF.

At that time, Maeda and Mitsuya Nagai were the only two people to transfer from UWF International, which had been inaugurated just the day before. Wrestlers such as Kiyoshi Tamura, Hiromitsu Kanehara, and Kenichi Yamamoto later transferred from UWF International.

RINGS’s system was very much like the NWA in which members of “foreign promotions” (actually stables composed of fighters from a given country) competed against the Japanese members. The major countries represented were:

* Netherlands (Dirk Vrij, Hanse Nyman, Gilbert Yvel, Joop Kasteel, Valentijn Overeem, Alistair Overeem, Chris Dolman)
* Australia (Chris Haseman)
* Bulgaria (Todor Todorov, Dimitar Petkov)
* Georgia (Zaza Grom, Tariel Bitsadze, Amiran Bitsadze).
* Russia (Volk Han, Fedor Emelianenko, Andrei Kopilov, Nikolai Zuyev, Mikhail Ilyukhin).
* Brazil (Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Ricardo Arona, Renato Sobral).
* United Kingdom (Lee Hasdell, Paul Cahoon)

Later, United States group was added.

Many early fights were “Worked” but later they became more legit. Volk Han just played with his opponent in this fight.

The Fedor Vs Arona fight was probably the best Rings fight ever.

Come on guys, of course this was fixed… Just look at Volk Han’s fight with Minotauro, the guy didn’t try even one submission move, while in this fight the guys are constantly changing positions and clearly allowing the other guy to try some weird fake wrestling positions.
