Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal came in at (9-1-0) while Emanuel Newton was (19-7-1). Muhammed Lawal vs Newton is the semifinal of the Bellator light heavyweight tournament. The bout took place on 2/21/2013 in the Maverik Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
I see my cousin “Lucky” showed up last night. Too bad King Mo folded like a cheap suit.
TTTIIIIIMMMMBBBBEEERRRRR
… it was about time
wow he accidently caught him after the ko preventing any further damage
looked like he was setting up for an immediate rear naked choke and instead he just really did an unconscious man a huge favour by stopping his head from bouncing off the mat.
That is what happens when you train with a professional boxer and try to imitate his style. Training with Floyd Mayweather, using his Philly Shell style was not the best move. That is what happened to Arlovski. These guys needs to train with mma boxing coaches not professional boxers.
THE ODDS WERE KING -505 NEWTON +355. King was also cocky. No pillow gloves in these cages.
“Lucky”?! Its called keep your hands up …
I love it when an organization bases everything off of one guy and that guy gets beat.
Wow. The ones you don’t see always seem to turn you stupid. I really need to set up my PVR to record these.
That’s how cockiness gets justly rewarded.
Cocky as usual with his hands down. Maybe next time he won’t think he is a king.
haha!! Serves you right king Ho!!! Cocky boxer style payed off!! Maybe he should train with Steven Seagal and stop sucking up to all the black sport celebrities!!
The biggest problem for the promotion is once he’s out of the tournament they need to wait until the next tournament to see him again. Did they even do a special feature on him on spike? I was happy to see him get ktfo for having his hands down. He was repeatedly close to getting hit anyways, at that point you’d expect to raise your hands.
No Chin.
One thing to add. That was not a spinning backfist. He had already planted and stopped his momentum from that overhand right. That was just a bitch slap with a hammer fist. Even with him not seeing it coming, to go completely out from that…. yeah no chin is right.
LOL…that was so funny…I am ranking it up there with Dan Henderson knocking out Bisping…every time I watch it I cant help but say in my head…”Now lay me down to sleep…” hahaha
Bruno: I know you gonna find a animated GIF for this one…
FMOT: @Fanview_MMA
Stumbling backfist FTW!
Yo Mo: U still too cool to keep your hands up?
talk about right on the button..damn!! out before he hit the ground
Why does mo keep his hands down and use very poor footwork?
f** mo go away
That was nice of Newton to rush to King Mo’s aid and try to hold him up as he was falling over like a tree.
mo thought the beard would save his glass jaw thats why his hands were low haha king roid will be headlining a wild bills nickel and dime show very soon
he pulled off an overeem.
Please stop being cocky and ruining your reps..
MJON is absolutely right. No Cousin “LUCKY” showing up,it was all about the basics. Keep them hands up.
spinning back fist mathafcker!!!
wow, rly embarrassing for everyone involved. this looked like a highschool fight and not even a good one…
@Powertele
I agree so much.I use to train in boxing and grappling seperatly in my town since there was no MMA gym yet and there were 2 boxing gyms.1 with an ex Canadian pro boxing champ coach and the other with a 3rd degree black belt in karate and a really good boxer but not pro boxing level.Of course I boxed 1st at the pro boxing place, but the 1st class I got at the other gym made me switch in a month.Knowing what to do against a guy who only uses 12 punches maximum in his arsenal against a guy with more then 30 strikes and hundreds of different punch kick and high low combos won’t help you.The best boxing coaches for MMA are rarely boxers. Some coaches like the Diaz brothers coach does it well though even if their style is not perfect for kickboxing,it works pretty damn good.
BTW I love how the commentator laughs at Mo getting KTFO.Everybody dislikes him but come on be more professional.
Hands up King, hands up. You may train with the Mayweathers but you’re not one.
haha stupid tard i guess allah took a day off. to this very day one of my favorite fight of all times is feijao vs king mo. man that was beautiful
Looks good on him. Always has his hands down, that was great to see.
next fight will go MUCH differently if they face again. Yes, I know you should ALWAYS keep your hands up but that was luck if I’ve ever seen it. Pretty soft chin by Mo though.
KO of the year, damn that was a great KO!
As mentioned before, Mo as always cocky keeping his hands down and thinking that he’ll land that one punch KO easily. He might have very heavy hands but his strenght is his Wrestling so he should stick to taking guys down and GnP them with heavy shots. I hope he learns his lesson after such an embarrasing KO!
to be fair
He did get KO’d by an odd spinning back fist
not really something you can prepare for by boxing
hahaha Never underestimate someone that also trains to fight no matter what there record is… Anytime anyday you could get KTFO if you dont guard that chin… Serves him right for thinking to leave his hands DOWN>… hahahah
I salute You
KING MO-DED hahahahah
Q VERGONHA agora vai tomar banho safado hahahaha
Keep your hands up Princess Mo!
Has King Mo joined the Blackzillians? certainly looks like it! (acts cocky and then gets caught)
Terrible terrible loss since the guy even seemed to expose a glass jaw of his own.. bad too bad
LOL at King Mo thinking he is a striker now, and a cocky one too, LOL he deserved that KO. He also probably picked the worst style of boxing for MMA.
Mo is a good guy. Cocky, yes, but he will come back. He needed that humbling experience. He tries to be exciting but he doesn’t know his limits. I’d still watch Mo fight over a GSP snooze-fest.
LOL Chael sonnen spinning BS finally connects something
Love it!!!!screw king F***!!!!!!!
100% skill 0% luck
he knew exactly where Mo was and threw the punch
look a the replay closely
ha! king mo thought he was too slick for spinning back fists -and he ate one.
he definitely has a better boxing game than before -but this is mma and if you want to fight with your guard down, you pay.
and he did.
Crouching fighter, hidden backfist.
Awkward spinning backfist for the win!!! Mo Lawal needs a new nickname. King No Mo(re) Lawal would be perfect. Apparently he was sleepeing when they taught defense, but he took an extra class on showboating to make up for it.
Hahaha King no Mo LOVE IT!!
King Mo got caught oh well… It happens and it can happen to anyone. People writing King mo off like he’s not good.
he was nice enough to end it quickly, catch him, read him a bedtime story, tuck him in sshhh shhh… and then celebrate.lol
lol, everyone dislikes that cocky stupid SOB, me included.
How can anyone forget the number one rule in fighting? KEEP YOUR HANDS UP
ROFL!
… hands down makes him an ass clown.
Nighty Night… lil Mo.
Russian commenter laughing was great trolling haha
terrible arm punching and stiff movement by mo – mo thinks he is anderson silva
That was just adorable ![]()
Emanual’s coach yells at him multiple times in the fight to keep his hands up and he does it.
Come to Blackzillians Mo we an teach you more bad habits (hands down eating punches technique) and how to believe your own hype.
should of kept your hands up Mo…as all these Rednecks could not wait to see you lose and you gave them what they want. real shame.
This is what would happen if mayweather would fight MMA can’t be cocky and move your head around with your hands down you get your ass Shonie carter lmao
I know this doesn’t add anything to what has already been said here, but I can’t resist:
I think anyone could call that one from the beginning of fight. Dumb@ss! You are fighting a dude who hits like a mule and your game plan is to walk to him with your hands down?
U got SERVED BITCH!!! HAHAHA
Should’ve taken the advice of the guy who kept screaming “Hands up!” over and over again
I guess when Mayweather taught him that style he wasn’t throwing spinning backfists or kicks. Mo forgot that mma had a wider diversity of striking attacks than boxing.
