Kimbo Slice takes on Seth Petruzelli at EliteXC Heat instead of Ken Shamrock because of a cut. Seth Petruzelli was scheduled on the undercard but he took the place of Ken Shamrock after Shamrock received a cut over his eye.

I am sorry for the delay but my internet service is down until Sunday afternoon and I had to post this with my phone.

The most incredible vitory in MMA! lol Man, I’ve seen this quite a few times and still can’t believe a little punch like that caused the legend to go down in flames. He’ll never be the same, but that’s what happens when someone with decades of experience goes against a novice and when you don’t touch gloves. However, props to kimbo and the silverback for taking the fight on short notice. Not, many would’ve done so, althought, I think the pitbull mentioned that if they asked him. He would’ve taken it.

i know that there will be some different opinions but i’ve seen it almost 5 or 6 times and like in past fight i also thought that was a fake and with kimbo ’s judge support that one is something different in other way -kimbo has no support and eventually the stoppage is faster than it supose to be .another thing is that i think kimbo took shoot in the back of head when he was comin forw and the referee didnt do any couse it was going so fast and the next punches landed automaticly and correctly .i’m dissapointed that kimbo-i think-unfourtunetly didn’t change his wrestling tactics from ken to this stand up guy..now you can say kimbo is dumb or very coachable ..i’m dissapointed

Kimbo Slice has made a mochary of mma for far too long. I respect him for pursuing his dream of becoming a “professional athelete” however after a while pursuing a dream can eventually turn into delusion which is exactly what has happened in this case.
I hope Kimbo is smart enough to realize that he shoupd take the money he has made and leave the fighting to the professionals. I know he loves the sport so I can only hope he will do the right thing because of that love.

I have four things to say…

(1) Not the greatest KO in MMA history, unlike what the ring-side commentator said, but still a pretty good one.

(2) This KO actually should HELP EliteXC because it shows they have fighters better than Kimbo, but it may be harder to market – still well worth the effort – but not enough to beat the UFC, just enough to stay afloat.

(3) I’d wish Kimbo would shave off booth boobs, he looks kinda weird with one of them hairy and the other one clean. Very asymmetrical.

(4) For all the “Karate Sucks!” folks out there, now we can add Seth Petruzelli to the other few Karate practitioners to do (reasonably) well in MMA, the others being:

(a) Chuck Liddell (maybe getting older now).

(b) GSP (probably at his best right now).

(c) Ryoto “Lyoto” (rymes with “Kyoto”) Carvalho “The Dragon” Machida (my personal favorite fighter in all of MMA, Fedor is probably 2nd).

(d) Rich Franklin (He uses wrestling, but I heard he started out with Karate).

(e) Anyone Else – I may have forgot, never considered, or have never even heard of who practices Karate and competes in MMA.

Forgive me for repeating myself, I’ve already stated this in another post, but:

It’s not so much ‘which style/art is better’ but which one suits you (your height, weight, age, speed, endurance, flexibility, agility, body-type/shape, cardio, fitness, your ability to take punishment and how much of it, etc.) and which style/art would be better utilized against your opponent, repsectively.

As far as ‘who wins/loses’ maybe it just depends on what day of the week it is for guys…And what time of month it is for girls.

I don’t want to hear any excuses for this, both guys took the fight last minute. Kimbo was preparing for Ken Shamrock and got Seth Petruzelli. Thats like saying you prepared for a hurricane but you got a light shower. Petruzelli weighed in at 205lb while Kimbo was 234lb, in tradition weight classes that a heavyweight vs. a light heavyweight. That was Petruzellis first fight in a year, while kimbo has had 3 fights in 9 months. So please all the pressure was on Seth.

P.S I predict Kimbo Slice will commit suicide in the next few weeks cause he totally lost all his street credit. A jacked 234lb, 6′3 thug who prides himself on being a street fight gets KO’d in 11 seconds by a 205lb rocker with pink highlights. WOW

Alright everybody, that was a straight right, not a “jab.” It didn’t have a whole lot on it, but it wasn’t weak either. It hit Kimbo completely unawares in a good spot (somebody earlier said the temple, which sounds about right). Furthermore, Kimbo was charging towards it. That would put a lot of guys down — which is why most experienced fighters don’t put themselves in a position to get hit with a shot like that.

To those who were talking about punches to the back of the head — I watched the replay in slow-mo on HD, and saw that there was exactly ONE punch to the back of the head. I’ve watched close to a thousand MMA fights in my life, and I’ve never seen a ref pull a guy off his opponent for one punch to the back of the head, let alone when he’s about to KO the guy anyway (let’s face it — Kimbo was done, punch to the back of the head or not). So it’s really not a valid complaint.

Kimbo is not so much exposed as he was caught quickly as can happen to any fighter in any fight. Stoppage seemd a little quick, but the outcome may have been the same. He himself knows his limits and capabilities. He has Bas Rutten who will certainly tell him where he stands. Remember, he fought a tough fight with James Thompson who isn’t great, but has been around and is considered a veteran. He won that fight on guts. As far as being a thug, thugs usually don’t work as hard as Kimbo. His ground game needs much work, as everyone knows, including Kimbo. Aiight folks here is my two damn cents on this and I welcome feedback to it. I for one counted more than one hit to the back of the head, but I am not sure if it was enuff to daze Kimbo. Also, with Elite no longer Gary Shaw’s show but Jared’s maybe he sees Kimbo as a liability. They just teamed up with Affliction and are bringing in guys with names to be apart of their show. The first shot after kimbo went down was a chop to the back of the head. Can’t see it from the angle in this video… find another though and you’ll see it. You might think that is insignificant, but that and that alone is why kimbo didn’t recover. He was getting up and then that chop made sure he wouldn’t. Everyone can get caught on the chin. We’ve seen even the best (Fedor, etc.) go down from a well placed shot to the chin. It doesn’t even have to be a power punch. Many fighers (including Kimbo, in his street fights) have recovered and gone on to win the fight.

Jasonicus, you can plainly see in the vid that Kimbo was getting up until the 2nd shot (the chop to the back of the head) occurred. Then he was down for good. So for you to say it didn’t make any difference is plainly ignorant.

There is no practical reason for a “fix” especially since EXC apparently “hinted” that they wanted him to keep the fight on the feet. Whitey you can believe whatever you want about drugs, however the majority of arguments seem to be of a moral equivalence. “Booze is bad for you so why not legalize drugs?” That’s more of an argument for the prohibition of alcohol than it is a good argument for why drugs should be legal.

Either way I don’t care, I’m here as a fight fan not someone trying to spew my personal agenda on drugs. The studies I’ve read are not propaganda pieces but I’ll leave this argument for another forum.

No one even has to try to make it, like beer or other legal drugs. Just pick it in the wild if you wish. It grows in our backyards without any effort at all.

The very reason the large beer and other legal drug companies want it illegal is because no corporation *could* own its production. That would be impossible. Its a naturally occurring plant. People could very cheaply grow or pick their own medicine and recreational drug.

Call me an ass, call me ignorant if you will. It takes a real piece of work to think its a smart idea to try to eradicate a naturally occurring, extremely prevalent, harmless, non-toxic plant that God made. Go drink your kool-aid.
