If you want to be a good fighter later in life it good to learn how to give a good beatdown as young as you can.
I’ve always found it a little bit disturbing watching kids take part in combat sports.
wow, that was cool. They don`t hit themselves on the face, just hits to the body, that`s good for kids. They`re practicing a very complete sport, without risks. So, that s good. MMA is the sport that i really love and practice, and, under that rules, it could be a nice way to make those children to compete.

the shit is fuckin stupid retarded.
Good fight, and good anckle lock, I like they can“t punch each other in the face with the close fist.
Wow was that young Mir vs young Lesnar lol
I understand why it is disturbing…it is because we worry that they might not be taught the ethics behind why a person trains to fight.
Teach kids the responsibility and good judgement that goes with these skills and then it’s an excellent way to foster a strong character.
PP
this is Fantastic
In kids Pankration there are no punches to the head/face. 2 boys would find themselves in an uglier wrestling match with no supervison where they could really get hurt. I totally respect the art and what it can do for the kids.
Now what I liked about this match is the smaller of the 2, the winner, was getting overwhelmed by his larger opponent. He committed himself to the ankle lock and pulled through for the win.
Combat sports should not ever allow child participants. Martial arts are an important component to child development, teaching the youth the discipline and installing the foundation of hard work. What does putting two child fighters in a cage do for their development?
Although I am fan of Mixed Martial Arts as a sport, I believe it should be a sport practiced by adults. Children, if interested in martial arts, should study certain disciplines, and compete/spar in a safer environment than a cage.
If these kids keep training and fighting at this age, they will be tomorrows champions for sure
Agreed, it is disturbing for some weird reason. Oh maybe it’s because kids are beating the crap outta eachother. They didn’t even have face gear.
nice to see the youngins havin a semi technical match
Sickening.
The small kid as potencial, but they are to young for this.
Btw:Is this legal??
Um… should parents really encourage such young kids to do pure fighting that could possibly lead to a fight at school in which their kid beats up or breaks another kid’s limb?
they re good for tuf!
(cazzo avevo scommesso sull’altro)
dont worry about these kids theyre not yours. maybe we shouldnt let kids play football then so we dont have to worry about others getting tackled boys will be boys and its obviously a controled environment dont post nonsense because you were to much of a weenie to do this as a kid. if punches to the face were alowed kid in red would of beat him when he had the full mount but instead he settled for a really ugly armbar attempt on a kid wearing gi pants that should say it all. i love america kids fight all the time in thailand and brazil im 100% sure these kids have the time of their lives doing this
Insecurity is what leads to fights at school, not ability. This is teaching kids discipline and respect. It also keeps them physically active which is a huge problem these days. Would you rather have them sitting at home eating doritos, playing games and talking to perverts on the internet?
Kick his ass SEABASS!
THIS IS SPARTA!!
It’s amazing what white trash will allow their kids to do.
Dude, I train Muay Thai and BJJ and this stuff isnt for kids that age. Plus, if a kid gets hurt doing this it makes our sport look very bad.
fedor would bang them
kids football is more dangerous than this.. get over it people.. i have worse fights in the school yard as a child
yeah hit him with the ankle lock.break his ankle because he is a child his growth plate will be destroyed real smart
WOW.
I am amazed at the reaction to this on this board. Those “Kids” were showing a level of technicality and skill then I’ve yet to see on the videos of TUF 7
And by the way, I’d much rather have my child train in this rather then getting him a toy uzi and tell him to go “have fun” popping caps at his best friend.
I can hear it on the school yard now: “He was passing guard like in a cross walk!”
And the next question: what age do you think it is “appropriate” to start training MMA? to Wrestle? any martial art?
but what at cost?
Well, I don’t know… 20 bucks for the gloves, another 35 or 40 for the shorts and jock…
I bet none of these kids ever get into trouble or fights out of the cage….
whats wrong with judo or submission wrestling… they don’t need to punch each other in the sternum, back and kidneys… those areas are developed, bones are soft so they don’t fracture but they should be fully developed in order to refract kicks and punches adequately…
In football and wrestling…..they don’t teach your kid to mount another and drop bombs. That’s not discpline nor self-defense.
Ill say it again. I have been in worse wrestling matches that weren’t supervised and I wished to god someone would have pulled my opponent off of me when he had me in a chokehold I couldn’t get out of.
Get over it. And yes it is very legal with a parents consent.
wow, they showed a variety of skill knowledge there. i wasn’t expecting to be impressed.
I’m probably just old fashioned.
I grew up with a TMA background, studied Judo since I was 11 (I’m 28 now) and competed for the GB team in several major tournaments over the last 10 years or so.
So yar, I’m old school when it comes to martial arts.
I remember a time where people studied martial arts rather than merely practice them. Which is what I’m seeing an awful lot of these days.
I blame pushy parents more than anyone else for these kind of situations.
Absolutely in favor. It’s no different from a martial art or wrestling tournament – it just combines the two. In all three tournament stlyes, kids lose and are disappointed and occasionally get a bruise. They learn self-discipline, things like when it is appropriate to use the skills that they’re taught. In this one in particular, they’re taught to be excellent sportsmen and shown that you can be mentally and physically tough at the same time.
Boo to the naysayers – I’d wager most have never experienced (either personally or through a child) what instruction in a martial art is like for kids.
Oh, and unlike in martial arts, these kids can’t be struck in the head with a closed fist. How is that less safe than taking a roundhouse or straight jab to the jaw?
As long as you don’t encourage aggression and anger I think it’s fine. This all depends on the way parents handle it. If some moron tells his kid “kick his ass kick his ass” and encourages him to hurt the other, then it’s bad. If they use it as a way to encourage competition and self defense, that’s great.
I remember in highschool, the football players would get concusions all the time, sprained ankle and the coach would tell them to walk it off. Have you ever had a baseball to the head, kicked in the shin with a soccer cleat, elbowed in the face during a basketball game by somebody that has 50 pounds on you, skated with a bunch of guys swinging sticks around? Now that is dangerous for your kids. All of this talk about Ive been doing mma for this long your either full of shit or jealous you couldnt do something this exciting as a child and had to stick to learning and not practicing a martial art. whats the point? you can be the best judoka in the world but what good is it if you dont put into constant practice taking a punch i.e. Marcelo garcia. I would probably agree with the skeptics if both these kids werent so skilled, plus they had not one but two referees. These kids are like what 12, theyre probably the coolest kids in school now because of this.
I can’t see the problem with it,I trained and competed when I was a child and apart from the odd bruise and sprain I was never hurt.Compare this to when I played soccer (broke my leg) and rugby (broke my collarbone) and fighting was the safest sport I ever did.I also grew up with a lot of respect for other people especially my elders from my karate training which has held my in good stead all my life.
Have any of you skeptics actually been in a fight? Or even seen two kids fight before? Schoolyard brawls are way more brutal than that often resulting in permanent injury. These kids let it out at training and in the ring which means they’re aggression at school is minimal for a couple of reasons 1) They dont get picked on. 2)They don’t have to prove themselves to other kids .If they’re already training and have no outlet for thier skill they will probably try and use it on thier friends and classmates like a bully.
I see no problem with it whatsoever.
There is no problem with kids paticipating in this sport, as long as that is what they want to do and are not being foced to do so. Give them the choice. They may want to be a MMA fighter when they grow up. There is nothing wrong with that. If that is what they want to be they need to practice. More power to the little guys.
