hes got good striking no doubt. but it pissed me off that he kept running away. its really all he does is run away till his opponent gets frustrated and makes mistakes givin him openings. but ya sick 1-2
Clay guida is a beast. Stopped too early. Lol… <>
i like he slips the punch.. reminds me of the first knock down pacquiao vs hatton
I don’t think the “stick-and-move” constitutes as “running away”. It was obviously an effective game plan.
Good thinking on florians part stopping his ground and pound to go for the choke cause judging by the immense amount of damage Guida took in the Sanchez fight he probably would have recovered and come back to continue to fight
I dont get how he runs away?
Guida needs to cut his damn hair!!!!
Florian can beat anyone but the current champ, he chokes
I like Clay..mannnnnnn…He should have threw the Right when kenny got close.
Florian finishes more fights than anyone at 155 you ucking idiots.
He doesnt “run away” he fights smart.
stick and move is running away. I knew k flo was gonna win but he light years away from being top level fighters.
Stick and move is not running away stupid. Darting in and out of range is a smart way to fight. It gives you the ability to time your opponent and look for openings. It also frustrates your opponent to lure him into doing something stupid. Boxing 101.
lol – i guess retard fans are part of mma – if you win as decisively as florian instead of standing and banging you are a superior more intelligent fighter
and the little greqasy caveman goes down
“Standing and banging” is exciting, but I agree with PuNcH that Florian’s style exemplifies skill superiority and intelligent fighting. All of the superior fighters take little damage (i.e. GSP, Machida, Anderson Silva, the new BJ Penn, Florian, Mousasi, etc.). Then there’s Fedor who sometimes takes a little damage while calculating the timing before smashing his opponent.
“Running away” is characteristic of Kalib Starnes…who got the boot from UFC and is often criticized by commentators.
If KenFlo can beat everyone but St Pierre I don’t think he “chokes”. If Ken Flo isn’t a top level fighter than there is only 1 top level fighter at 155 in the UFC I guess? KenFlo is excellent, it’s just Penn is amazing.
Penn v Guida now what a fight that would be.
Penn vs. Guida would ultimately be a boring fight. Guida would be even less able to do anything against Penn than he was against Florian. It would be 5 rounds of BJ taking a part, punch by punch. Even worse than he did with Sanchez.
WoW nice one kenny I like how he landed both punches then he went low and got out of the counter punch, very fast and precise reaction
Ray, Florian is not the most athletic fighter but he makes up for it by his intelligent fighting style. He saw clay’s telegraphed right hand a mile away. If you watched the fight Clay predictably threw that right every time Florian darted into range. Florian threw the short hook and beat Clay to the punch as he expected Clay to again throw his right. Also, in boxing trainers stress that you end your combination with the hook since it minimizes the chance of being countered.
You have to give Clay credit though, most fighters would have been lights out with that punch.
Very nice movement, clean footwork.
Kenny is really great.
Thats the work of (Florians boxing trainer), as Mike Goldberg pointed out not once but twice in abut a 5 minute span, word for word, pitch by pitch lol.
Did anyone else see flo’s hand down below his shoulders? Its lucky guida didn’t throw a random hook.
