Boxing video of WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (34-0 30KOs) Vs. veteran Bernard Hopkins (48-5-1 32KOs). Hopkins is 17-years older than the champion in their boxing battle at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Wow that was impressive..Bernard Hopkins made Pavlik, arguably the #1 p4p boxer on the planet, look like a rookie…at age 43, that’s damn impressive..I hope Hopkins retires after this..he’s proved his point, and now he can go out on top…wow- Pavlik is a humble and classy guy..

Man, I thought the bisping vs lebel, jarding vs verga fight were boring, but after seeing this. I rather watch those previous fights then this.

i was at this fight.This was a complete beating this was as lopsideded as the tarver fight agaist bernard.Kelly was taugh a lesson by a man who is a great technical fighter. I dont know how the justifed hopkins being a 4-1 underdog but i thank those people who bet pavlik.

Hopkins has a tendency to make dirty & boring fights: holds alot, head butts, elbows, hits while holding etc. How about “unified rules for MMA” sounds alot like boxing huh? ufc, MMA(ultimate boxing) is already undermined & plagued by former boxing employees(mark ratner, shaw, de la homo etc.) even dana white’s origins are in boxing. Not to say that all boxing or boxers are bad, but they are overstepping their bounds into MMA. MMA needs to disassociate itself from anything boxing!

Really bad fight. This is why i watch mma, and not boxing.To many rules, no kicks, no elbows, no knees, no take downs, no slams, no ground game, no fun. Boxing is a dying dinosaur, mma is the wave of the future.

Hopkins landed a really nice uppercut with his palm pointed out to his side instead of up so he could sneak it in between Pavlik’s gloves. After the fourth round that fat cop in Pavlik’s corner tells him to work on the inside, not to listen to the ref and to punch Bernard in the nuts! In the last round the commentators talk about how the younger generation of fighters aren’t any good, that’s probably because they are competing in mma instead of boxing. That hater Larry Merchant was so pissed that the executioner won,lol

Boxing is Boxing. I know this is being posted to an MMA crowd but if you don’t like the skill of boxing or pherhaps have never been in the ring yourself then just don’t watch. Boxing is a great sport in the eyes who enjoy the sport.

Thank you for posting this Bruno! I was really surprised with footwork and hand speed from B-Hop. This guy is the Randy Couture of boxing. To beat a young champ at 43yrs old is pretty damn impressive. You knuckleheads crack me. I wouldn’t have minded seeing a KO, but i was pretty entertained. I’d rather see a good technical fight than 2 guys laying on each other.

boxing is a great sport! but unfortunately there are only a handful of boxers doing anything for the sport. Pacquiao, Marquez bros., Toney, I.Vasquez and a few others. Don’t buy into that B-Hop, Mosley, De La Homo crap.

Very impressive win for Hopkins. A lot of boxing haters. But like any sport it’s boring when you don’t know what’s going on. To say boxing is usually boring is an ignorant statement. It seems the majority of MMA “fans” regards most fights that go to the decision as boring. They boo when fighters are on the ground working for submissions. Portrays an ignorant fan base.

Moose, very well said! I didn’t find it boring at all. I am always excited and entertained when a great young exciting fighter like Pavlik is in the ring especially when he’s fighting a legend who’s sly as a fox like Hopkins. Especially when the underdog comes out on top, I always love and can be excited by that. Pavlik caught Hopkins on an on night so it was inevitable. Great fight by both fighters.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. people who dont enjoy boxing are usually people who are ignorant when it comes to the sweet science of fighting. MMA is a great rising sport full of talent that are good at what they do, but even the great striker (with the exception of Anderson Silva) wouldn’t have a praiyer against a half descent boxer standing up. Just like boxers would be naked on the ground. Overall I prefer boxing to watching grown men roll around on the floor with each other. Boxing is two men using the same tools in hopes that the other guy will make a mistake first. Sometimes this means patience, waiting for the right moment, and sometimes its hard for dumbasses to understand.

First of all i wanna say…B-Hop verses Kelly Pavlik was a great and exciting fight! From begging to the end. Now Im also a MMA fan and find myself falling asleep on most MMA fights, but i do like it. Heres the difference between MMA and Boxing… MMA doesnt require much skill or training at all anyone who has a lil power and street skills can do it. The fights consist of alotta hugging and tends to get boring quick and often. Also nomatter how great the fighters skills are the fights still come down to who is the luckiest fighter that night. Boxing on the otherhand you have to be in excellent condition and be a True professional with youre hands. Training is grueling and If you do not have just those two things you will get knocked out every fight there will be no hope for you at all. Boxing sticks to the true artform of fighting…hand to hand like real men do…MMA uses submissions knees and kicks and thats great, but in my lifes experience every martial arts fighter ive seen in action in a REAL fight that threw a kick or tried a submission other than a chokehold got his ass kicked blinded by fast accurate punches and great defense. As for MMA taking over that’ll never happen… Just look at the difference in the paydays. MMA Fighters make thousands… Boxers make millions,and there are numerous reasons for that the main one being every MMA fighter steps in the ring with a 50/50 chance of losing everytime… Not all boxers do…sum can guarantee victory every fight cuz they that damn good,and thats what makes money
