Just buy a Glock 9mm to keep fully loaded under your pillow.

It gives great support to the pillow holding your head makes you sleep better.

Keep a 12 gauge pump action by the head board fully loaded for backup.

Keep 2 viscous large breed Dogs in the house.

Put a sign outside saying this House guarded by Shot Gun 4 Days & Nights a week you guess which 4 all other days Dogs will eat you.

No worries.

@mmafan11: What happens if the burglar waits for you to go the dogs, gets into your house, finds your 12 and shoots you and the dogs with it?
That’s what usually happens with burglaries involving shooting. The resident gets shot with his own gun because burglars rarely try to break into a house when people are in the house.
You will be safer with the “glitterrific” bow…

Use a large, bolted down safe and keep your weapons broken down unless in use.
