Thanks for posting. Was curious to your opinion on Saku retiring since i know he is 1 of your if not your favorite fighter Bruno. Bruno: He should have quit a few years ago. He just loves being part of the show too much to walk away. http://www.saku39.com/index.html Log in to Reply Derkderder September 24, 2011 Good thing UFC 135 is tonight or else this would’ve made me really really depressed Log in to Reply KidPistolas September 24, 2011 Good fight for Cabral. Too bad is not Saku´s prime days. Log in to Reply Micah September 24, 2011 Sakuraba is a legend, but he needs to retire. Log in to Reply PitfighterZ September 24, 2011 Watching him fight now is almost depressing. He can’t move anymore as his knees are shot, his strength has also been shot by booze and injuries… he is mostly a standing target in comparison to what he used to be. He is an amazing fighter and I know he gets paid well to do these shows, but I would prefer that he would focus on training new fighters. Another journeyman like Pulver and Wandy who may not think they will need a functional brain after 40. You need a brain to take care of the money… Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick September 24, 2011 Please retire Saku.Nobody wants to see Saku finish his career and be like Gerald McClellan. It’s sad but who are we to tell him what to do with his life?If he wants to keep fighting he can but that doesn’t mean he’s smart.Look at McClellan,he doesn’t even remeber winning a champioship so all his work at the end gave him nothing.I don’t want to see that with Saku. Log in to Reply Doyle Brunson September 24, 2011 I said he should of retired before this fight. I didnt know who Yan Cabral was but i knew he would win Log in to Reply jointlocker September 25, 2011 I have always been and still am a big Saku fan. From the first time I saw him fight at UFC Japan against Marcus “Conan” Silveira and won after Big John’s decision was overturned and they ended up fighting twice that night. The “Gracie Hunter” will forever have his place in history and on my poker cards as my 2 inch HAO figure I bought during PRIDE’s heyday. His fight with Carlos Newton was a technical clinic. His sub of Rampage was proof of skill over brawn. I agree with Bruno. He should’ve retired years ago. But oh the memories. . . Log in to Reply greengiant September 25, 2011 saku is and will always be a legend.sucks we all get older and can’t do the things we were once able to.just think if these old school guys were at their prime now,it would be a lot more exciting to watch mma.to me the older fighters were the best most exciting to watch, now every one is a drone. No man as the right to tell another man when he should quit, regardless how you feel about what he is doing. Its is life, and he should retire when he feels like retiring.
