That was a sad, slow version of the Saku I know and love. He’s just not hungry anymore, and his body isn’t capable of doing the things it once was.
Sakuraba is still the best there ever was.
Boring!!!!
Man, that’s so shitty. Tamura isn’t as exciting as he used to be. He was way too content to do hammerfists from Saku’s guard the whole fight with no attempt to pass. He didn’t even go for a submission attempt the whole match. Tamura got saved by the bell at the end of the first round when Saku got him in the armbar. Sakuraba’s injuries have ruined his career. He can’t continue like this. He’s too sluggish now. It’s really sad to see. Saku was fighting for side control at the end of the second but once again ran out of time. Kazushi Sakuraba is my favourite fighter of all time, so this was really painful to watch.
This is no the same Kazushi we all know. I think he is taking unnecesary punishement. he should retire, obviously we wants to keep going, but his time has passed.
I agree!!
Almost hard to watch!
Sakuraba needs to retire before he gets permanently damaged. I know he wants to keep going but he’s taken way too much. Like his last fight with Melvin.
Sadly the high point of the fight was when Kazushi came riding up on a little girl bike.
I think Saku’s relying too much on his ground game. He’s become one dimensional and that’s not going to work in MMA against well trained fighters anymore. Even entry level fighters know some degree of ground game. Saku needs to be more diverse.
Kazushi Sakuraba has fallen so fast he would not even be able to win to get in the Ultimate Fighter house if he wanted to!
I’m very sad to say it, but now is the time for Saku to retire. He was murdered by Manhoef but i wanted him to retire on a win – and getting one against his nemesis Tamura on the main event of a Dynamite card would have been the perfect way to go out. But now if he can’t even beat Tamura, i don’t see him beating anyone else they’d have him fight.. Rickson maybe but if he looses then it would just further tarnish his legacy as the Gracie Hunter. Its sad to say, but it is time to retire.
Sakuraba the best there ever was rofl
black gerbil1 you being 1st to post comment is uncommon, in fact you have this special super power to always be first.
Sakuraba may become a great trainer, but his physical condition is just destroyed. Even in his prime he wasn’t much of strong and well-prepared fighter, but he had enough brains and technique to pull out amazing victories. Now, he’s just a shadow of himself.
It was nice of the nursing home to let Sakuraba out for this. After his reaction to being kicked in the legs I thought that they should have taped his whole body up like freakin egyptian mummy though
