| K-1 Premium 2007 Dynamite!! card at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka has been significantly upgraded with the addition of Norifumi “KID” Yamamoto. | |
Japanese superstar Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto will enter the ring with grappling expert Rani Yahya , FEG announced Thursday at a news conference in Tokyo.
FEG President Sadaharu Tanigawa thanked WEC executive Scott Adams for allowing the promotion to use Yahya, who is still under contract with the Zuffa-owned World Extreme Cagefighting.
After not qualifying for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling, Yamamoto rejoined MMA fighting in September. Fighting at a 139-pounds against BJJ world champion Bibiano Fernandes, Yamamoto won a much tougher-than-expected unanimous decision after 3 rounds.
With top Japanese favorites that include Kazushi Sakuraba, Masato and now Kid Yamamoto they are likely to pack the Kyocera Dome in Osaka to the roof.
