wow that guy has serious demantia.ronda is good but people need to relize that shes a medium size fish in a tiny pond, maybe a poddle even. having said that, sarah kaufmann is going to lose, shes not a knock up puncher, she cant finish ronda with her baby punches. moveover, ronda will put her on her ass in 2 seconds.

Gene is jealous of Bruce Lee. I suspected as much upon watching his interview on “I Am Bruce Lee” but it’s official now.
BTW, it appears people commenting here are not familiar with Bruce Lee’s extensive fighting experiences. He sparred many a round in his lifetime, accepted many a challenge, and was a street fighter in many respects. In a street fight, he taught eye gouges, groin kicks, and other techniques not fit for MMA. With that said, need I say he would’ve destroyed Roussey? Give it up, Gene. You will never be as beloved as Bruce because you were never as committed as he was. You are self indulgent, whereas Bruce was a philosopher, a teacher, and an inspiration.

Gene is a legend because he IS A LEGEND. Now he is obviously well past his prime and would never fight again but his knowledge is well known. As far as Seagal goes he too has a lot of knowledge and can teach so it really just goes to what a fighter takes from the lessons of the past greats.
If Rhonda wants to learn some judo technique from a legend then she can certainly learn some stuff from Gene.
If Anderson and Machida want to kick guys in the face then they can. I don’t think Seagal should take any credit for what these guys do in their fights.

Bruce wasn’t a competitor so I dont know why he even feels he has to go there. Guess its jealousy. Geez guy let it go the man’s been dead for over 30 years and his son is dead too have some respect. I do understand though that once on a movie set he was practice grappling with Bruce and got him in a headlock that Bruce wasn’t too happy about. Perhaps there was some bad blood that was never squashed…

Gene is a dumbass. First of all, he’s saying that Ronda would beat Bruce Lee. Well, f****** duh, if you’re going to match up Ronda, who knows the sport, and Bruce Lee who has NEVER experienced the sport the way Ronda did, then it is only logical to say that Ronda would beat him. But if the likes of Bruce Lee were alive today and he was aware of MMA in the same level Ronda was, then Ronda wouldn’t even touch Bruce Lee. Different mentality. If Ronda were existent at a time Bruce Lee was at his prime, and neither of the fighters were familiar with MMA, Ronda wouldn’t even be known.

^^^ Exactly, most of the above posters don’t realize that Gene LeBel TRAINED Bruce Lee, and that because of that, Bruce became a very accomplished grappler.
Crack open “The Tao of JKD” and near the middle you see a section dedicated to studies on Judo and Jiu-Jitsu.
As Bruce Lee said (paraphrasing), take what works, and toss out the rest. Ronda has trained under Gene (who whooped Bruce Lee’s ass), so it stands to reason that Ronda in her prime could beat Bruce Lee.

Gene Lebel taught Bruce Lee Judo and wrestling. Also Bruce Lee taught Gene Lebel striking techniques. Saying who is better is like saying Jordan is better than Kobe Byrant. Who would win? Most likely it would come down to the last shot. Gene Lebel is a legend in the world of fighting. He is a little upset that Bruce became more famous than himself. Bruce had Gene on philosophy and power of the mind. That’s what made Bruce the greatest.
