borring…but congrats

southiejimmy Says, in 5-20-2012 at 09:37:45 from

good for cormier, he seems like a great guy, and its nice to see a guy like him dismantle a douch bag like barnett. cormier has probably improved more in a very short time frame than any other fighter in recent memory, with the possible exception of jon jones.

kryptonite Says, in 5-20-2012 at 09:56:23 from

no evans vs jones was boring i enjoyed that very impressed with cormier will definatly be in the ufc looks the real deal that slam was unreal

Powertele Says, in 5-20-2012 at 10:01:53 from

How is two heavyweights going 5 strong rounds boring. I prefer this battle of a 2 minute knockout. Everyone loves a knockout, but now we know Barnett and Cormier have distance in their games. We knew Josh could go, but Cormier brought it.

murell Says, in 5-20-2012 at 10:14:24 from

I would like to see Both of these guys in the U.F.C.

MuffDiggler Says, in 5-20-2012 at 10:49:14 from

Thought Barnett looked a little flat-footed, but congrats to Cormier, tough win for sure. Barnett is a tough mofo.

Kimbo Says, in 5-20-2012 at 10:51:26 from

Cormier! Bravo!

Beast w/ 8 Limbs Says, in 5-20-2012 at 12:15:22 from

Oh yeah. That was totally worth waiting a yr and a half for.

jdogg Says, in 5-20-2012 at 12:38:49 from

@ chitdik – No, YOU’RE boring. But congrats on being born, I guess.

just0 Says, in 5-20-2012 at 13:01:50 from

@chitdick you thought this fight was boring? I thought it was awesome! Also originally thought Barnett would have smashed Cormeir. Man was I wrong.

pk Says, in 5-20-2012 at 13:31:53 from

really? thought this was one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve seen in a while. and Dang, Cormier has improved tons.

keulniss Says, in 5-20-2012 at 13:32:36 from

Hey Bruno, I made 2k on cormier, but unfortunately I got it at -105 a couple hours before fight time instead of when the line opened at +140. Damn, I gotta get better at predicting line movement. Did you make any money on it?

Bruno: Not that fight. I was pulling for Josh but I though DC would win. I only bet Gilbert Melendez vs. Josh Thomson would go the distance. Made around $1200

That was my only bet.

dirty Says, in 5-20-2012 at 13:49:54 from

Cormier was impressive. I do think Barnett breaking his hand in the first round had a huge impact on the fight.

Fab Says, in 5-20-2012 at 13:51:49 from

Good fight but Cormier pulled some BS in the last round by taking it easy and coasting his way to a win. If you can beat the hell out of a guy for four rounds then you can beat the hell out of him for five. Otherwise a very impressive showing.

benjamin Says, in 5-20-2012 at 16:29:09 from

Cormier may end up in the UFC… Probably. Lets not forget Barnett was ousted from the UFC for PED’s… He’s not gonna get an invite back I believe.

benjamin Says, in 5-20-2012 at 16:30:50 from

Boldenone I think it was…

benjamin Says, in 5-20-2012 at 16:32:35 from

…. Of course this year DOES make a decade since that happened. (UFC 36)Barnett could make a reappearance. I’ve seen stranger things.

Robert Says, in 5-20-2012 at 16:58:35 from

Pfft Fab, Cormier had it in the bag. Had he gone all out in the fifth he had everything to lose. He beat the crap out of Barnett for four rounds and if he couldn’t finish him in 20 minutes a smart fighter would know not to force it in the fifth with victory and the belt a certainty. Much easier being an armchair fighter. Nothing to lose.

chitdik Says, in 5-20-2012 at 18:23:42 from

Yeah I thought it was borring I enjoyed JJ and evans much more..Josh didnt do s*** PERIOD! SO yeah it was phukin borring! one sided piece of chit fight…

mmafan Says, in 5-20-2012 at 18:26:26 from

I was very excited for this fight and it did not disappoint. I felt that Barnett should have had the edge due to his vast experience and proven toughness, but Cormier had all the makings of being a very talented fighter that just might pull off the upset and he did, perfoming stellarly and despite having the disadvantage in height and reach…he showed just how talented he is. I am sure Dana is excited about Cormier being the victor, rather than Barnett, and I fully expect DC’s next fight to be in the UFC…as a fan, this is awesome!!

mmafan Says, in 5-20-2012 at 18:30:32 from

I disagree if a fighter “breaks his hand” and continues to fight. From a fans point of view it either sounds like a cop out, or it stands to take away from the victory of the opponent, in this case DC. It would be better for both fighter and fan, if you really break your hand..to stop the fight, have a doctor confirm the broken hand, give the victory to the other guy, and set up a legitimate re-match, otherwise it just sounds like a cop-out…bad on you Barnett, if you are going to decide to keep fighting, then dont cry about a broken hand after you get your ass kicked.

KouNTa KuLCHa Says, in 5-20-2012 at 18:32:00 from

Good fight. Knew Cormier would win. Been sayin’ this dude was bad, and most of you laughed it off. Who’s laughing now??! All the way to the bank baby! Muhuhahahaha! ;)

southiejimmy Says, in 5-20-2012 at 18:38:27 from

cormier basically just garaunteed himself a job in the ufc. not because he won, but because he won against barnett, and in convincing fashion. the ufc gods will look upon him favorably because of this.

c..kid Says, in 5-20-2012 at 18:50:58 from

great five round heavy weight fight?….wait really dam cormier is goooood

PitfighterZ Says, in 5-20-2012 at 19:17:29 from

Both fighters broke their hands in the first round. Tough mofos for sure!

KungFuLowKick Says, in 5-20-2012 at 19:30:21 from

Well said. And we can guess Fab would’ve gave s*** to Cormier if he would’ve lost because he went for broke in the last round.

Tempted Says, in 5-20-2012 at 19:47:14 from

This was boring. 5 round fights are great when the smaller guys do it, they hold a higher pace and throw a million times more strikes. When heavyweights go 5 rounds the fights are always pretty do-nothing. Even my favorite 5 round HW fight was boring, Couture vs Sylvia.

JiuJitsublkblt Says, in 5-20-2012 at 20:56:51 from

Someone named Josh Barnett just got butt r****. Cormier needs to fight Junior Dos Santos next; mark my words Cormier will be champ for a long time in the UFC.

Victoria, BC –Canada Says, in 5-20-2012 at 22:10:18 from

Watched it live…. great fight…. same with the Thomson/Melendez fight….. great two fights.

axl782 Says, in 5-21-2012 at 03:08:03 from

nice fight, but DC running at the last 15 seconds, was a little bit disappointing, the crowd was booing… is not the best way to finish it…

wow Says, in 5-21-2012 at 03:53:46 from

I didnt think the fight was boring, i was rather impressed with both fighters.

Fab Says, in 5-21-2012 at 09:19:23 from

@ Robert I said nothing about going all out. He didn’t need to do that but he stopped fighting completely. He pinned Barnett to the cage and ran for the last few minutes. At no point was Barnett a real threat. You’re in the cage to fight from bell to bell. It’s your job as a fighter. No excuse. You don’t really think this will fly in the UFC do you?

dreameracer1 Says, in 5-22-2012 at 14:11:33 from

u gotta love the little guy beat up a full grown professional fighter like Barnett. awesome fight with the biggest heart.
