again decision unanimous? wtf i can’t believe this guy gurgel still fighting, seriously man.its not even funny anymore…
Best fight of the event, out of the ones I’ve seen.
E
So how many more brain cells does Gurgel have to lose before he uses some bjj? I know if I spent over a decade honing my skills in one discipline I would at least attempt to use it once in a fight
wow beautiful display of high level jiu jitsu
yeah excellent fight! would like to see more fighting on the ground tough
Good for Gurgel
Gurgel is such a great runner. Every time I see his fights he does the old punch and run run run. Weak! That’s the Bisbing. Don’t try to steal it from Mike. No wait Kenny Florian already did steal it, go ahead then. sorry about that
gurgel sucks! worst fighter ever..
While I agree that Gurgel has something loose in his head to constantly have standing wars instead of doing what he can do best, I love the guy’s fights. He doesn’t have dull fights. He puts it all out there and almost every one is a fight of the night candidate. He is one of my favorite fighters because of it. He may have been moving a lot, but he wasn’t running. He was smart, he was able to negate the reach difference. Bisping throws one punch and runs, Gurgel jumped in there and exchanged. War Gurgel!
grugel is an idiot. mma isnt about stand up wars and banging till some one falls over. its mixed martial arts and jorge doesnt seem to understand that. he has skills that he doesnt even utilize because he thinks its what people want. you wanna please me as a fan? win a fight decisively and show me the skills you have. apparently the guy is brilliant on the ground but who the hell has ever seen any of his ground skills?
hes a joke.
The strikeforce refs are really starting to piss me of. Their lack of knowledge takes the piss.
wtf is wrong wit his abs? in the pic
@jaycallaa.Stop bitching about how he should stop fighting. Why should he? He puts on great shows and he has heart and I found that fight to be entertaining. It’s not running either. It’s called not getting cut off and bashed in the face.
Gurgel is useless. He’s got the power, he’s got the skills with the BJJ, but freg he’ll never be a champion. He’s more concerned with the way he looks in fights. If he was that good, then he’d use his skills to win fights, and not just win, DOMINATE! He was exactly like that in TUF. If all he wants to do is entertain, then freg, go fight Butterbean, and Mike Tyson and what not.
Maybe that’s his intention anyways. Someone should ask him if he’s got any intention on actually being a CHAMPION! LOL His answer will be a laugh.
I woulda scored that fight a tie. Not impressed with his running.
Nothing more frustrating to watch than a very high level bjj fighter get his head smashed around for 15 minutes. Total stupididty, his stand up will get him nowhere but his jitsu could take him so far. so sad to see
jeez announcers. holy hard-on for Gurgel.
look at the facial damage, look at the ring control, Gurgel running away the whole time. Huen at least deserved a split decision.
nice fight.. gurgel is good if you like to see some exiting stand-up wars. if he tried to learn some ground skills he might be unstopable.
lol @ bearlythere, I think some of you guys need to educate yourself or what a split/unanimous decision is and how things are scored. Anyways, good fight.
How does a guy “deserve a split decision”? The judges dont all get together and say “one of us needs to award the fight to the other guy, he deserves that much”. They watch the same fight and make idividual decisions.
Conor was robbed!!!!
im with lawleer.wtf is goin on with the hurricanes mid section in this pic?
god I love watchin gurgel, never a boring fight.
Gotta say tho that he looked a LOT more disiplined in his stand-up. His corner did a great job, I think they really kept him focused this fight.
His fights are entertaining and hogh octaine. However I would have to question his skills on the ground. I would bet very much that he does not have the knowledge nor confidence on his BJJ for some reason…It is clear to me that something is missing in his game since only an idiot crowd pleaser would want to take this kind of punishment rather than submitting nad staying healthy…I am willing to bet even a blue belt could take him to the ground and submit him…to his credit, he is like the bunny rabbit – takes apouning and keeps coming for more… not very smat though…I give him another three or four fights and he’s done…atleast his brain.
I’m with Jaycalla. hey sleepers do you know anything about mma?
Gurgel, great thai fight, my style when i fight but he doesn’t have knock out power but he puts it out there. He will have a longer career if he wins with BJJ more. great fight though.
Why wouldn’t Gurgel want to stick and move against a guy with a 4″ reach advantage? Not a great criticism, IMO.
hey, judonomi, Gurgel actually has amazing BJJ, and is a great BJJ coach.
Everytime you see Rich Franklin pull gaurd or Dustin Hazelett whip out a reverse arbar outta nowhere, keep in mind that’s Gurgel who taught them those things.
The dude has just said like 5 million times “I think Jiu Jitsu makes fights boring, and I love having exciting fights”
which he does.
and he got submitted by Cole Miller, which was just a freak fucking submission. I didnt even see it coming, Cole just snapped that shit up outta no where.
