A chance? Sure. Machida caught Jones with a blitz, but Vitor’s is faster, & stronger.

But: I think Jones has improved more between every fight than Vitor has in his entire career, and that’ll make all the difference.

@jeckel i’m not gonna insult your sports knowledge but to borrow an axiom from teddy atlas … boxing is the science of hitting and not getting hit. You’ve never seen Jones get rocked so you assume he can’t take a punch. The point of fighting is to never find out the answer to that question. If you wanna stand and bang then thats cool you’ll win a few fight of the nights and then you can be a Chris Leben or Chris Lytle or a Sam Stout or a Demarques Johnson … you get the point yet ?

Jones is the best fighter in the world right now … and yes he’s better than Anderson Silva because he can not only take a fighter down but he can prevent someone from taking him down which Anderson clearly hasn’t been able to do. Fanboys opinions aside. He’s exciting , he finishes fights , and he’s fighting much better competition. So appreciate greatness while it lasts

People tend to hate on Jon Jones for many of the same reasons they love other fighters like Anderson Silva. Silva talks that humble s*** but he’s had fights like the Demain Maia fight where he basically disrespected his opponent , himself and the sport.

@INANEBIGNATE I’ve been watching Jones for the same amount of time. He has great talent, but he’s full of himself; way too cocky and it’d be awesome of Vitor chopped him down to size.

Jones’ chin can’t take the shots. The Lyoto hit wasn’t super hard or clean and it was only 1 shot that put Jones off balance. If Vitor can get inside with his berzerker styling, like the old days, Jones will be lights out.
