OK Jones haters, this post is gonna make it real hard on you. Go to town. Jones is head and shoulders above anybody in this division.

MeseretewitAbobo Says, in 4-22-2012 at 03:45:26 from

John Jones out reached him with his orangutang arms and legs.

Bruno, you are awesome, thank you for coming thru with this fight once again.
JBJ should have those elbows insured for millions by now. Awesome champion.

great win for jones.i hope one day he will fight against mousasi.

Throw dem bows… LMAO boring fight but well controlled by Jones… and Rashad said he wouldn’t dance to Jones’ tunes. tsk tsk tsk…

Thanks Bruno.

Boring ass fight.

Enki Says, in 4-22-2012 at 05:36:14 from

The only only reason this guy looks “good” is because hes fighting guys who for the most part are one or really, TWO divisions below him, the only real gift he has is being as big as he is and weighting so little.

Put him in with someone his own size and what how normal he looks. Because who he fights offers no real threat to him, normally hes able to feel confident to throw anything and often does. I dout he will be able to fight at that division that much longer.

san Says, in 4-22-2012 at 06:38:38 from

at least rashad lasted…..dont quite like this bones fellow

Tempted Says, in 4-22-2012 at 06:42:49 from

I don’t know how this was so boring. As much as I don’t believe it, it really looks like Jones was holding back. Rashad, who is insanely fast, looked just average. This was very disappointing for me.

An alright fight. Nothing too exciting.

OhBoy Says, in 4-22-2012 at 07:04:58 from

Lol why would Evans stand-up with Jones the entire fight? After that didnt work during the 2nd round why wouldn’t he try something else?

kbrew007 Says, in 4-22-2012 at 07:11:07 from

playing with Rashad, Bones could’ve finished him if he wanted to just showing him some respect….

Rashad fought like a home grown bitch in this fight. Never went for broke, never laid it all on the line. Jones went the five rounds for the first time and looked like the fresher of the two fighters. Jones has walked through the top of the LHW divition. Is ther even anyone else? Maybe he should go to heavyweight. Damn!!

Breakfast with Bruno every Sunday morning.
Jon seemed reserved.

jpkrunch Says, in 4-22-2012 at 09:10:31 from

Jones is maybe the smartest fighter with the best instincts. Say what you want about him, he is obviously extremely dedicated and the best in the world, always improving and he is only scratching the surface of what he will be able to do

PitfighterZ Says, in 4-22-2012 at 09:14:03 from

You need a JBJ to beat JBJ. The kid is just a smart fighter fighting not very smart people. You need a 205er with the mind of a 155er to get in there and mix it up.

Not the best fight for Rashad, but he seemed to have left his emotions take the best of him.
Rashad never really listened to his corner.
Jones advantage lies on his ability to stay put within his range and out of the other fighter’s range. You have to force him to walk back to take that advantage from him while attacking those legs and throwing elbows. Every time in his career someone did that, Jones looked confused and got tagged. JVJ does not have the legwork of A. Silva to back up in angles and dancing around his opponents. He just stumbles back.

Anyway, the kid is a champion and I don’t see anyone being smart enough to try something different against him, although Gustaffson might be the best option now.

fail anderson silva Says, in 4-22-2012 at 09:49:06 from

Dominated! Jones, still undefeated, what was Rashads game plan, just to stand with Jones? not smart.

southiejimmy Says, in 4-22-2012 at 09:53:28 from

Im slowly becoming more and more impressed with jones. I dont think anyone can doubt him any longer.

jizim28 Says, in 4-22-2012 at 10:02:59 from

only person that can beat jj would be anderson silva super fight of the century

cd Says, in 4-22-2012 at 10:42:02 from

i used to like jones, but can’t respect him the same until he moves to HW. the reach and size advantage is just retarded. i don’t like rashad, but he looked like a 170 out their taking on a heavyweight. Please jones, dos santos walks at 230 just like you. go challenge urself.

Beast w/ 8 Limbs Says, in 4-22-2012 at 10:48:48 from

I invision the exact same outcome against his next opponent, Hendo. Jones did say in the post-fight presser though, that the leg kicks hurt him pretty bad. That’s the trick, and a hell of a trick at that, because getting to those legs is not f’ing easy. His reach is incredible. And he uses it better than any fighter ever, boxing or otherwise. I can see a good tall kick boxer getting Jones legs. Gustaffson, comes to mind right away, but Jones would wrestle.

ihatehaters Says, in 4-22-2012 at 11:24:40 from

Love it.Rashad butt boys are real quiet today.he was outclassed in every way

60ndown Says, in 4-22-2012 at 11:39:35 from

id have been tempted to punch jjs fingers, if i could break 2 or 3 of them with a well placed/timed punch, winning the fight would have been possible.

Cecil Peoples Says, in 4-22-2012 at 12:01:19 from

i scored the fight 49-46 for Evans

Danby Says, in 4-22-2012 at 12:13:37 from

Well at least rashad went the distance. I don’t think anderson silva could beat jones. Maybe a younger anderson silva but now he wouldn’t have the stamina for a 23 year old. Plus jones is a wreastler which is trouble for him.

As much as i love dan henderson i think the fight will go similar to rampages fight.

The kids good, plus he has a 12 foot reach.

Catquick802 Says, in 4-22-2012 at 12:14:26 from

Does anyone else think that Bones let ‘Shad off the hook a couple of times? I thought Bones owned Evans the entire fight, but he rocked him and did not pounce, let him out of the guillotine too fast I thought, rocked him again and let him recover. I was like damn, finish him already. I think that Jones really still likes ‘Shad and didn’t want to hurt him any more after hurting his feelings. Bones is no killer, despite his past finishes. I’m a fan of his and like him, but I wish he would have destroyed Evans to make a statement, not that he needs to do so anymore. He will wreck Hendo though.

Danby Says, in 4-22-2012 at 12:15:57 from

He’ll probably go up to heavyweight in a few years. But for the forseeable future mr. jones will be the champion. Perhaps they should let machida and rashad fight jones at the same time. They might have a chance then.

2 words … El bows.

jdawg Says, in 4-22-2012 at 12:24:48 from

Yes, Jon Jones is tall and has a freakish wingspan, but it’s ridiculous to say that the only reason he is doing so well is because of that. I am 6′ tall but I don’t think that means I could dominate Joseph Benavidez like Jon Jones has dominated people.

Also, he is making weight every fight, so he belongs in that division. It does not make him a lesser fighter that he walks around much heavier. If the other fighters feel undersized, they are welcome to go down a weight division. Btw I don’t like Jon’s personality, but one cannot deny that he is extremely talented. He has finished Shogun, Lyoto, and Rampage in the last year.

Atheist basturd Says, in 4-22-2012 at 12:26:42 from

@Eriki wants us to put Jones in with someone his own size. If you read the post, you see he means “his own length”. Which I guess is either height or reach or both.

Now that would be nove. We do away with weight classes and have height reach classes. I can see the matchups now.

Jon Jones vs Yao Ming.
Pablo Garza vs A broom stick.
Mighty Mouse Johnson vs Um… Mighty Mouse.

mscash Says, in 4-22-2012 at 13:00:13 from

LOl, where is that s*** for brains poster that told me Jones’s last five fights didn’t mean anything? Next fight it’ll be that his prior six fights mean nothing too, right, @ Coldshot?

All it takes is one punch, right coldshit? Too bad Evans couldn’t get that punch!

DanielMcfate Says, in 4-22-2012 at 13:18:04 from

Was a Jones fan before he became the champ. No disputing that he’s a great fighter, but I like him less after this fight.

FailSonnen Says, in 4-22-2012 at 13:39:54 from

If only Phil Davis could work on his speed and aggression and Gustaffson….maybe…but as said, Jones has strong fight IQ courtesy of Jackson/Winklejohn…he’d just grapple.

Hendo? Only the H-Bomb….which is hit or miss.

dana whites mom Says, in 4-22-2012 at 13:43:57 from

black on black sparing match with greg blowing jones in between rounds. JK. good for jones but not the greatest mma fighter ever. future ufc hall of famer for sure though.

Lazer212 Says, in 4-22-2012 at 17:04:11 from

Rashad was way to timid and f*ck Jones. Bring on Hendo, at least Hendo win or lose will put him in a fight.

Horus Says, in 4-22-2012 at 17:11:15 from

Gustaffson next would be a good one, but it’s generally true about the bigger guys who can cut weight. The ones who dominate divisions are generally naturally a weight class higher with size… the one that comes to mind that is the opposite though is Edgar.

BJJ7777 Says, in 4-22-2012 at 17:32:52 from

The best P4P fighter in the world and he’s just getting started !!! He’s not even in his prime yet… Damn !!!

nuno Says, in 4-22-2012 at 19:35:49 from

Gustaffson is not the solution for this problem because he lacks on wrestling. Jones should prove himself the best of all times in the heavyweight division. He as a HW frame. Fedor is much smaller and fights at HW you coward. JJones is a coward. I don’t see any honour. I see JBJ moving to HW any being just another guy in the mix. WHY? Because he will not have is best weapon, the size diference.

ruddo293 Says, in 4-22-2012 at 20:13:02 from

I respect the hell out of both fighters for doing what they did… I even respect henderson for his quest for the title again, but honestly… Dan is not going be able to deal with Jones….

Schism Says, in 4-23-2012 at 00:03:09 from

Jones just keeps proving to me that he is good because of his length and his ability to keep opponents from really getting within range. He has zero knockout power and proves that again. Please go to your true weight class, which is heavyweight and get demolished!!!

JoeDog Says, in 4-23-2012 at 00:15:18 from

Jones is a freak of nature. At LHW he looks unstoppable.

Tempted Says, in 4-23-2012 at 01:51:46 from

I think Hendo is a great challenge for Jones. You can’t hurt Hendo, and he throws the heaviest hands of all 185, 205 and most 205+ fighters. I think Hendo would take him down and beat on him. Remember, Machida got inside on Jones and rocked him numerous times. Machida doesn’t hit as hard as Hendo.

shocktime Says, in 4-23-2012 at 02:36:55 from

Yeah Gustafason would get wrecked too. Jones would just rag doll him into the ground and elbow his head through the Canvas.

Thxer Says, in 4-23-2012 at 09:43:12 from

JBJ’s cardio was better than Rashad’s, pretty damn impressive.

kbf Says, in 4-23-2012 at 10:27:43 from

I remember when all the Jones haters would say hes untested or hes all hype. Now hes been tested by the cream of the LHW division and hes bested them all. Kudos to Rashad for going the distance a first. Rashad didnt shed any blood either.

boonching Says, in 4-23-2012 at 10:34:47 from

rashad didnt even try, he quit in the 2nd round when those elbows found his head.

mma made easy Says, in 4-23-2012 at 13:18:30 from

Jones defended well. Always a pleasure watching the man work.

axl782 Says, in 4-23-2012 at 16:21:30 from

jones have one of te best take downs defenses, i think hendo cant do that, and yes, Machida doesn’t hit as hard as Hendo, but Machida is a faster fighter with nice counter attacks, thats why he gets inside…
i think jones will beat hendo, and then will beat Gustafason.

akmd114379 Says, in 4-24-2012 at 18:22:42 from

i would not count out gustafason he is just as tall as jones with a comparable reach AND HE GETS BETTER WITH EVERY FIGHT … jones will have a hard time with him … he also has great striking i think more solid than bones
