Matt Hammill won this fight, short as it was, by disqualification. If guys in a boxing match were fighting and one guy kicked the other in the balls over and over and wins because the other can’t stand up, we know the reciever of the kicks would win, just like Mr. Hammill should have. Jones should be fined, disciplined, and handed the loss… not to mention going through a complete and thorough class on the rules and regulations for MMA in the states. Poor performance for Jones. Log in to Reply Stephen60641 December 6, 2009 My bad, Hamill won. Log in to Reply fworn December 6, 2009 They should have a rematch, or at least feed Jon Jones a tougher opponent(not saying that Matt isn’t tough). Rules are rules but that’s a horrible way to loose. Log in to Reply mr. 42069 December 6, 2009 bearlythere: you are an idiot and the same goes for everyone who thinks hamill should have won that fight. jones won, thats it, end of discussion Log in to Reply Pikachumanson December 6, 2009 Steve Mazzagati for another excellent reffing job… not! That fight shoulda been stopped sooner than that. Hamill couldn’t do shit and he was taking too many hard shots before the illegal elbows. Log in to Reply Ree December 6, 2009 I look forward to seeing Jon Jones fight again. What an exciting fighter! Log in to Reply slavekarmaat12 December 6, 2009 too bad…so sad! 1st time i saw “bones” fight, can’t wait 2 see him again…ala anderson silva of LHW!!!! Log in to Reply DFA December 6, 2009 Total BS, Bones could have twiddled his thumbs for the rest of the round and Hamill wouldn’t have been able to answer the bell fopr the 2nd. However, one illegal blow gave Hamill the rest needed to say he couldn’t continue and give him a terrible DQ win. Jones is the better fighter clearly and an absolute force at lhw. Can not wait to see him fight next! Log in to Reply Luke December 6, 2009 @bigbonesaw: I totaly agree except the towel thing would be against the rules buddy 😛 Log in to Reply LEEROY December 7, 2009 steve mazagatti is a prick, he needs the sack! The fight should of been stopped long before bones even threw them illegal elbows! Log in to Reply The Funky FRO December 7, 2009 There’s no way that should tarnish Jones’ record. Hammill had ZERO chance of winning that fight! I thought it should’ve been stopped because the moment that Hamill would tap would be the mark where he goes unconscious. I have no idea how that appears disabilities such as being deaf so excuse my ignorance if I say it’d be scary to see Hamills brain motor functions after that. I’m sure that’s what the UFC / MMA needs right? What the **** happened to better stopping it one punch too early, then one punch too late? And how long does it take for a No Contest decision to be ruled? Does anyone have a link for the true definition of a ‘No Contest’ bout by any chance? Thanks a million. JJ is going far man….he’s such a grounded dude, very creative, very strong, and humble even after he could’ve flipped his lid with the decision. No Tito-ish excuses. The guy is a man. Top that off, he’s training with Greg Jackson’s camp…..WOW man. Log in to Reply el1tefighter December 7, 2009 Feudor you are a complete moron!!! Fedor is a heavyweight fighter so of course Jon Jones would have a disadvantage. It’s idiots like you that make MMA look ignorant. Log in to Reply x2468 December 8, 2009 Those were some pretty blatant 12 to 6 elbows. I don’t know wtf you guys are all whining about. they’re clearly illegal. If you don’t know the rules of the sport maybe you should look them up. they’ve been out for years. Log in to Reply Daniyal December 8, 2009 So the last two elbows he threw did all the damage to Hamill and warranted the DQ? Mazzagatti should be fired and JJ given the win.. even Hamill was surprised he won. Log in to Reply The Black Swordsman December 8, 2009 Hammill couldn’t continue because he separated his shoulder after being put on his ass. He had no answers for Jones who dominated him and the Jones should have been credited with the win … the elbow didn’t end the fight the trip and the gnp ended the fight Log in to Reply alpha5 December 8, 2009 Ok Jon Jones is for real!!! He reminds me of Anderson Silva….I wouldnt mind seeing those 2 fight…But Jon needs a top 10 opponent…I really don’t think nobody can beat this dude in tha 205lb. I put him above Rashad and Tito and Chuck…The fight should have been a NO contest or Stopped a long time ago. Steve Mazzagati either stops fights to early or to late. His Judgement is off. He was not even givin a proper warning for his illegal blow…But think about it how many people know all the rules on how to drive a car or all the procedures and rules at the job…You can’t even name them all.. Log in to Reply GooseUhRoose December 10, 2009 Those were clearly 12-6 elbows, which resulted in the most damage. Watch the replay, no blood then 12-6, then a pool. This fight should not have been stopped earlier b/c Hammer was coherent and intelligently defending himself. Making attempts to block the elbows and grabbing for wrist control. I can say that I think this could have went as a NC because of what was leading up to the stoppage, but Jones most certainly should not have got a W as most of you retards are saying. Mazzagatti did a great job, did not stop early, and stopped when he saw a foul. You all should probably start reading rules, maybe actually studying some MMA if you’re going to talk shit behind a keyboard, and perhaps quit hanging off Jones’s ball? Log in to Reply dirtyharry December 16, 2009 hey u all people come on ! look matt hamill is good honest fighter and also he could fight him but i beleive that he did a little dirty job cuz he knew if not finish him then jones will tire and matt will hit him hard and finish jones thats for sure but he was hurt his shoulder and still fighting he is tough and then when illegal elbow once hurt him thats not fair fight so but next time matt will be better and rematch so now he knows what to do with jones . i can see that jones was very little scare cuz u see why matt fowarding him cuz he is not scare tough guy beleive me . Log in to Reply Gohendo March 14, 2010 what’s the difference between this elbow and the elbows anderson silva put into lutter’s head while he was in a triangle? the whole 12-6 thing is idiotic and needs to be removed from the rule book… i mean what’s next? elbow pads? helmets? boxing gloves? YAWN… Log in to Reply hambino March 22, 2010 you look at all the wins from this jones bum ALL HE DOES IS ELBOW PEOPLE IN THE HEAD i mean come on, you do it on the street it gets called attempted manslaughter yet this thug does it as a deciding factor for nearly every win, and suddenly he is the king??? this guy would get the slops pounded out of him as a boxer/wrestler because he has nothing else going for him except cheap elbow shots to the face/ head, nearly all the other athletes would at least stand a chance because they are not just a 1 move wonder why dont we just rename it ” ULTIMATE ELBOW FIGHTS” ANY MAN THROWING A DECENT ELBOW TO THE HEAD OF ANOTHER MAN IS EITHER GOING TO KILL OR SEVERLY SCREW UP THAT OTHER PERSON Log in to Reply TheBasher June 21, 2010 Dude above what do you think your watching? It is mma that includes all parts of it and elbows are a big part of it…and the dude has some nice stand up to..not sure what you have been watching. Jon Jones is a factor at at 205…if he keeps winning Dana said he gets a shot in about a year. Log in to Reply tom August 2, 2010 fedor is a has been ~~ Log in to Reply tom August 2, 2010 FEDOR IS A TRUE HAS BEEN barely a top 10 hw Log in to Reply eyke23 August 5, 2010 The thing is, Jones wasn’t a poor sport. He accepted his loss, and moved on. The haters will continue to disregard his talent and/or potential, but he’s a prospect that everyone in the UFC is worried about.
