A street fight in a ring?? Geezus..it’s painful to watch these mainstream hosts with their ignorant stereotypical depictions of MMA.

People s*** on Jon Jones for being phony but he’s a polished guy who thinks before he speaks and ultimately he’s what the sport needs. Bob Arum , Floyd Mayweather and several other pro-boxing advocates have tried to cast the UFC and MMA as a sport where unskilled , tattoo sporting , skin heads beat each other up … a tough man competition but not a sport. Jon Jones is the perfect representative to take the sport to the next level … not only by being a spokesperson but by drawing young African Americans to the sports not only as viewers but as combatants.

Genghis Khan Says, in 7-24-2012 at 22:03:11 from

well well… they should’ve looked a bit deeper into the man’s history. Not the Mr. Perfect as he pretends to be.

Great representative of the sport!

Well said, HatersGonnaHate. We could have Jocob Volkmann or Rampage sitting there.

Sidekickz Says, in 7-24-2012 at 23:39:57 from

This is horrible i cant even finish watching it, these people have no idea what the sport is about other than the champ ofcourse.

I think a lot ot the criticism is unfair. You have to remember that he is just a young man in his 20’s!!! He clearly resisted the urge to educate these middle class middle aged folk and made it a light hearted fun type interview. This is exactly the way to get them watching and they will educate themselves as they do! Well done! JBJ is a cedit to our sport and what we need as we slowly but surley enter the mainstream.

Yeah HatersGonnaHate… with his very public DWI arrest and all…. he’s on his way to proving MMA fighters aren’t idiots!

Joe Dog Says, in 7-25-2012 at 09:43:28 from

Uninformed staff, painfully boring guest, I could not get past the first 30 seconds. Jones might be a good representative for the sport for folks who are unfamiliar with MMA, but I simply can’t stand to listen to his Jesus infused drivel. As a fighter, he has my respect. Otherwise,…(puking sounds).

MMA_KING Says, in 7-25-2012 at 11:51:42 from

@joe Dog – Puke on you kiddo. Jones did a great job, it’s always hard to watch these goofy hosts that have no idea what they’re talking about. But hey, MMA fans, this is how the sport will be introduced to new groups of people, so deal with it. And yeah, Jones isn’t perfect, but who cares, he’s an exciting fighter to watch!

dalnkwnt Says, in 7-26-2012 at 02:24:58 from

actually think the question were perfect for him to make them looks stupid and to make the sport look good!

FailSonnen Says, in 7-26-2012 at 03:23:48 from

Poster boy? Self control? I guess people forgot about his DUI Bentley pole smash up with two girls (not his wife) most likely giving him road head.

HatersGonnaHate Says, in 7-26-2012 at 21:41:48 from

so what he got arrested ? He’s not the first pro athlete to be arrested and wont be the last … Floyd Mayweather is the biggest draw in combat sports and he just did time for beating his ex-wife in front of his children.

I’m not making Jones out to be a Saint … he doesn’t have to be though. He’s a fighter all he has to do is win. I find it funny that the same people who point the finger at his arrest and say see i told you he’s not perfect are the same ones that glorify guys like Rampage Jackson , Nick Diaz , etc. Guys who didn’t have the self discipline ( Rampage ) or the mental constitution ( Diaz ) to take the torch. Jon Jones is clearly the best fighter in the sport right now and he’s media savvy … there’s a reason you dudes hate on him and that’s because he has the goods. If he was a well spoken also ran like Kenny Florian , or a a talented fighter with no social media skills like Anderson Silva it’d be cool … he’s the most dominant fighter in the sport , he’s not a bad looking guy and they can trust him to get on the mic and promote himself and the sport … so you hate.

HatersGonnaHate Says, in 7-26-2012 at 21:50:33 from

Do you even know why you hate Jon Jones ?

He was handed a title shot that he didn’t deserve … wrong he pretty much walked through everyone that he’s faced including shogun for the belt and he’s defended the LHW Title more than anyone since Liddell or Ortiz.

He hasn’t fought anyone … super wrong he’s beating the best of the best … facing even better competition than A. Silva … beating Shogun , Rampage , Evans , and Bader in less than 2 years.

He’s arrogant , cocky , or self righteous … he’s a 25 year old who’s rich beyond his wildest dreams , at the apex of his sport , and hasn’t even entered his prime yet … guys like Ali , Roy Jones , Mayweather … are cocky or arrogant … Jones deflects praise , defers to his brothers , etc.

Is it his in ring performance ? Can’t be he’s not only been dominant but he’s extremely exciting and is one of the most well rounded and talented fighters to ever step in the cage.

Maybe just maybe you dudes are hating and instead of hating on Jon Jones greatness you need to pull you boxers down examine your own package , make sure your nuts are still there and pursue your own greatness and appreciate what it is that your seeing and that’s the evolution of the sport and a champion who’s greatness we haven’t even began to comprehend.
