The UFC Ultimate Insider host Jon Anik moderates a debate that quickly escalates into heated verbal combat.
Part one this week and part two coming the next.
Jon Anik looks like Frodo here:)
i like jon anik here…cause he doesn’t talk much.
From all the pre-fight interviews that I’ve seen so far, this one is by far the one with the biggest tension and true hatred in the air..
Wow this has to be one of the realest and greatest interviews I’ve ever seen, I used to think that this “beef” was fabricated for the fight but after looking into their eyes for a long period of time its obvious they’re dead serious and have already gotten into each others heads. The whole argument that Jon Jones presented about not having to rely of wrestling therefor making him unpredictable and not being anywhere near a point in his career where hes gotten complacent is fascinating and would be circling my mind right now if I was Rashad Evans.
Rashad looks like he knows he’s gonna lose.
very mature …. / sarcasm
Both fighters are confident, both fighters are
arogant . They WANT to hurt each other.
Awwwwww….why did that have to end! It was awesome!
I hope Hashad puts the snitch in stitches.
the kids lmao jones reminds me of an idiot who read a book about philosophy so now he thinks hes socrates
love em both… not sure which way it’ll go but i know it’ll be exciting
Jones is nervous all day, which is why he is cocky. He gets sucked into Rashads game already, making him reveal s***. Jones is still very young, he will be humbled, not sure if Rashad is going to do it, I hope he does. Someone will knock you out Jones, and on that day, everyone will laugh at your loud mouth ass…you’re not a real champ, you need to take a note from Randy Couture. It’s going to be like when Hendo knocked out Bisping, who knows maybe Hendo will be the one to do it to Jones.
LOL their mothers(Dana) dress them as twins.
Not sure how Rashad thinks he’s gonna overcome the elevation factor. Jones’ red blood count coming into this is gonna dwarf Rashad’s.
s***. just. got. REAL
jon is too cocky man howeva i want to c a great fight n will be routin 4 suga, but bone is an animal. we shall c
seeing jones losing would be good for him, he thinks he is on top of the world, he is getting pampered too much too quick he needs to get humble up.
Not saying jones shouldn’t be confident in his fighting but he should give some respect and credit in a personal level to Rashad for being in the game for so long but he sounds like a selfish ass and very arrogant, for that reason most people want him to lose.
I hope they knock each other out and end up never fighting again. That would be the perfect fight.
Ugh, I used to like Jones… now I cant stand him. I used to hate Rashad… now I think hes not so bad. Weird
jon anik between those 2 guys made me laugh.
can you be a bigger dickhead than Jones. I hope Suga embarrasses him. I want the athletic commission to think about why they put skinny JBJ in with such an elite athlete.
“because I said so” that is the best line of the interview!
Rashad was a psychology major, and he usually gets the better of these verbal wars, but once they get in the cage it won’t matter much. Jones is just not comfortable with the back n forth trash talk. I expect a great fight, but think Jones will take this…
jones didn’t seem that hatred in the beginning, rashad just got on his nerves during the interview. Their both cocky duh, rooting for jones this one. I’m guessing a new name has to stand up to beat him. Someone can always catch him but i think we have to wait for some new fighters to get competitive fights.
Jon Jones: “Because I said so!”
Amazing.
Ali Vs Frasier all over again! These are UFC fighters not actors way they can act that good! The beef is the real deal.
awesome
Jon is educated and well spoken sometimes idiots mistake that for being cocky.
Damn.
Jones had to practice what he was saying. He wasnt that well spoken but he was calmer. Jones was almost stuttering. Jones is young and arrogant but talented. Old dogs like Rashad can still learn new techniques too. Jones still has the physical advantage tho…
Because I said so !!! LMFAO !!! Keep it coming guys…
“I’ma get you to skip to my loo!” LOL!
I expect Evans will be hit with the usual barrage of Jones’ elbows, knees, feet, fists, shoulders etc, both standing and on the ground. Once he is bloody and shaken, Evans will not be able to recover and Jones will submit him with some strange, rarely seen submission move…let’s say, a “can openner” or perhaps a “biceps slicer”. I predict it will happen in the second round. Every keyboard warrior has his predictions…..
I heard after UFC purchases pride, strikefarce, and merge WEC. The next big buisness move is to…merge with WWE. This is the way the sport is going we got chael who thinks he is a pro wrestler and brock who is a pro wrestler. We should just merge the 2 sporsts and make WWUFCE. The divas rip panties off them rashad kicks jones in the face then the rock smells what i have been smoking for the last 10 minutes cuz im high as s***
Jones aint scared, but just nervous. He doesnt believe in his ability in front of the camera yet, he is self critical to a fault perhaps, but maybe its why he is the champ?
Im saying Rashad has got something to prove, Jones just has to do what he does, and destroy.
The first minute is the most telling… when Jones talks about how all the kids love him and that being the reason that he’s their leader.
Rashad has his number
Rashad will not only lose he will get embarrassed. Words are just words your performance in the cage is what counts. Rashad couldnt even finish Phil Davis in 5 rounds, He looked like garbage in that fight. Now he’s fighting bones who has a huge physical advantage as well as just being a better fighter. Bones has more ways to win. All Rashad can do is try to take bones down and hope he can keep him there.
The more Jones speaks the more I want to see his ass get beat. WAR RASHAD
WOW!! Comming from a friend of Jons…He is the furthest thing from cocky. He is as polite as champion as he was when he bounced at a small bar in our town. Im sure theres some guys i think are cocky but prob are actually really cool. Its hard when your on camera all the time. But jon is so nice and always gives back to his community. Plus when your talking to a guy that your fighhting that has been talking trash 24/7 your going to let him know your not scared
Jon Jones had that “Are you trying to question my religion??” crazy look in his eyes towards the end. Rashad is really getting into his head
Does anyone here actually think Rashad has a shot in hell against Jon Jones? Come the Fluck on.
F**k yea!!!!!! Can’t wait!!!!!!!
@Failsonnen yeah, that look was awesome! We need a gif of that.
dammm.. feel bad for rashad but hope he wins
Jones is cocky but I think we all know He will absolutely destroy Rashad
“The divas rip panties off them rashad kicks jones in the face then the rock smells what i have been smoking for the last 10 minutes cuz im high as s***.”
Laughin my ass off.
jones is full of crap, he doesnt care about kids, he is a kid himself, with millions to buy his toys, a humble guy doesnt buy a car in half million $ after a good year, only a black guy.(remember tyson)..and as educated as he is, his origin overcomes.
@baller please return to 2nd grade for spelling class.
the high dude talking about a WWE merger made my day. thanks high dude, aka “muppetoflove”. s*** talk reveals nothing about what will actually transpire on April 21st. Not one of you, nor I, know the true outcome. Remember the term “any given Sunday”? All I gotta say about that. Now, in regards to Rashad’s comment regarding Greg Jackson’s betrayal of two of his fighters just to prep up-and-comers against those who made him: valid point. I didn’t even consider the GSP/Condit switch. I don’t feel Greg Jackson or Rashad are owed anything. Business is business, even if it means cutting corners, changing gears, switching sides and staying relatively quiet about it. One thing that Evans, Jones, Condit and GSP all possess is bright minds, flexibility with instructions and all having benefitted from the guidance of Greg Jackson. I don’t condone his ethics or decisions, nor do I defend him. It’s a free market. Not sure wtf I was aiming at with my rant. I’m on xanex, prednisone and enjoying the “my guy’s gonna win” blabs
Fake a punch, and kick the legs of Jones so hard that almost your leg breaks, but his actually does. Jones has thin legs — use a heavy part of your leg to bust his leg.
Don’t even think about it — pretending like you’re trying to kick through brick.
Jones is a badass. The end of this video was just plain badass. So badass it almost seems scripted. Badass.
Jones looked scared from the very beginning.
rashad lost to machida and couldn’t finish rampage. jones destroyed the 2 of them. i can’t see rashad winning the fight but i would give him the verbal war.
Jones wasn’t scared. He was stuttering some of his words because of adrenaline. He was genuinely pissed off. I kind of like that Rashad got to him, I’ll be interesting to see how Jones fights when he wants to hurt someone. Rashad, on the other hand, goes off the lid if someone says his tie doesnt match his wristwatch.
Had to laugh at Evans’ “I’m going to make you skip to my lou.” Jones to focuses on defending the double leg, doesn’t see the overhand right. Evans by KO in the 2nd.
This fight is not going to a decision! Jones, as much as I appreciate what he brings to the sport, just showed everyone that he his not a strategist, and that the fight plan he will bring will be Jackson’s one.
He feel right into Rashad’s traps, revealed precious detail about his training, what weapon he will bring and on top, reveled how he sees Rashad as a fighter.
Jones become’s impulsive around Rashad, and any fighter who becomes impulsive, can take bad decisions.
A coach once told me that a competitor can be superior physicaly and technicaly than another, but a weak mental game or a bad mental state can lower his performance, and vice versa.
If Rashad can continue to plant those bad seed in Jones head, He might have an advantage, add this to the game plan revealed by Jones, plus other factors playing in favor of Rashad, a upset might be something to consider.
After this interview, I wonder how smart or aware is Jones? Is this a learning curve for him? or does Jon Jones have a bone between the ears?
man I hope rashad knocks that cocky ass smirk of his damn face!
Jones has every right to be cocky, he earned it. He destroyed everyone not just winning by decisions, including Machida who knocked the lights out of Rashad.
These type of fights always worry me. When you talk so much, and you are to the put where you rather die then lose to a person you can’t stand it takes most men out of there game. They are going to be very cautious in this fight and it could turn boring. I hope that doesn’t happen in this one.
I love Jones’ haters, “he’s too cocky!” The guy is 24 undefeated and easily the best fighter in UFC’s toughest division. Hell he’s probably the best fighter on the planet (JDS pending,) he should be the cockiest bastard on the face of the Earth, yet still maintains a semblance of humbleness. Oh, but you suspect it might be fake, F*** you. Dude’s a badass and a good person, deal with it haters.
Rashad is taking advantage of Jones crazy Christian pride and arrogance by getting into his head
“Call that cocky.” That was the most real I’ve ever seen Jones and I like it.
You get glimpses of who Jon Jones really is towards the very end of this interview. He tries to spit the GSP good guy stuff, but the difference is that with Jon Jones it is not genuine. Never a fan of Rashad but I am rooting for him in this one, but he is gonna have a tough time with Jones’ reach with the hands and legs. I can’t really see Rashad taking this one.
Remember how sheepish Quinton Jackson sounded after Jones soundly beat him? “The kid is legit”, “He’s the real deal”, “I thought it was just hype” etc….Look for a humbled Evans to repeat. I’m guessin….
All you guys calling Jones Cocky and this and that, u do realize this man is a beast and would whoop your azz with one hand tied behind his back right?
Rashad has no chance in hell against Bones! So what if he’s cocky, the man destroys every one he faces every time he steps into the octagon. Aside from that illegal elbow, he’s flawless and undefeated and will reign in his division for a very long time. I personally would like to see him move to heavy weight since the spider won’t move up to face him.
These are two of the baddest men on the planet and this fight is going to be a war! I really want to see this fight right now!
Jones has every right to be confident. He’s younger , he’s got the better skill set on the feet , he’s six inches taller , and after weigh ins he’s going to be bigger. He’s not afraid of Rashad. Rashad is a two dimensional fighter … he’s a boxer and a wrestler …they always show that kick against sean salmon but who the F*** is sean salmon ? Matter of fact where the F*** is sean salmon ?
Matter of fact who has rashad evans beaten ? Dennis Reed , Sam Hogar , Brad Imes , Bryan Pardoe , Hector Ramirez , Jason Lambert , Sean f****** Salmon , Tito Ortiz 2x ? Come on son … Rashad is in for a rude awakening a year is a long time for a 24 yr old champion whose already smashed 3 former champions … make it 4 because this is gonna be a humbling experience for Suga
outside …. jones
inside …… rashad
clinch …… jones
ground …..jones
in and out ….. rashad
speed ………… rashad
the fight will start where jones is amazing the outside
rashad will take the first damage and he is expecting it
jones gettin caught by rashad is not expected
i understand why this world is the way it is………………… all comments above mine are of ignorant losers.
Jones need to stop playing the good guy which comes off as a act and no genuine and just be himself the cocky kid that he is at least it would be real towards the end he sound cocky and like it was real, a real A—hole is better than a fake nice guy
Jones isn’t a nice guy or a prick, he just tells the truth. The truth is he’s the best in the world right now.
This rivaly is all a fraud I’m telling you! These two guys are good friends and have coluded together to build the hype for the fight. This fight is ALL about money!! Buy into this bullshit rivalry at your own peril! That being said, Jon Jones’ ego is out of control!
“dude you’re weird bro…”
“call that cocky…”
Just too many good quotes from this interview.
Jones looks so confident and determined. Rashad knows his numbers on the wall.
