Jon “Bones” Jones says it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.
Jones has an awesome mindset and is dead on. In order to be good at the sport you do need a bit of irrogance. He has the perfect amount and I hope we get to see him face Anderson Silva sometime soon. Hopefully his attitude doesn’t change with his success.
like to rampage win this fight .. jones is sick tho .
interesting…..
This guy is wise beyond his years, its hard to believe he’s only 24. There are only a few fighters that integrate their physical skills with such a dominant mental aspect to their game (ie. Georges St. Pierre, Anderson Silva). It’s no shock why these guys are the best. On one hand you have Rampage, who’s goofing off half the time, talking noise, paranoid, and never improving his achilles heel – wrestling and footwork; and on the other hand you have a younger guy who has a true “warrior” mentality – stays focused, never complacent, high concentration, regularly meditates, well-versed in all fight styles. Jon Jones is great for the sport of MMA.
This guy’s amazing, however he has never been punched in the face by someone with the sheer power of Rampage. It’ll come down to his chin and how strong it is.
i love how people just forget who the hell rampage is, what hes done , and what he can do. Jackson will win this fight, tko in the 2nd or by decision.
jones is not arrogant imo, he just f****** boring.
Jackson will not be able to get close enough to use his power. He’s too plodding, too slow, too one dimensional.
Jones for sure, I’m on the fence about how. Either 3rd round TKO or strong UD.
Rampage is in so much trouble! unless he gets in a Lucky punch,he’s gonna get an ass whoopin.
@uberreemjr
I cant speak for everybody but i havent forgotten who rampage is, the bottom line is rampage is a dated fighter. The game is changing to the point where your heavy hitting, brawler type fighters are gate keepers at best (chris leban, shane carwin, rampage) I love all three of those fighters but at this point I look at them like Goro… the gate keeper to shang tsung hahaha
Should be a fun fight. Power vs Style.
Jones is just too skilled and unpredictable. This kid is gonna rip through everyone but his chin has never been tested. I want to see him get hit.
you lost me when you put Chris Leben in the same sentence as Rampage. I get your point, he isn’t as dynamic as the new generation, but that is the same argument that had talking heads picking Hamel over Rampage. I mean really, come on. Rampages base is wrestling. Ask Hendo how easy he is to take down. Not saying it won’t happen because Jones has rag dolled everyone to the ground, but promoting the idea that a guy is one dimensional because he is chosing to fight a certain way is simply inaccurate and a misrepresentation of the facts. If Rampage were getting subbed or GnP on his back than that would be true, but I haven’t seen that yet. Bottom line Jones will take him down at some point.. Can Rampage find his way back to his feet? We will see… I don’t see Jones staying on his feet. He has more or less said so. He would have more trouble than most of you think. He can’t counter quickly like a Rashard. He would have to try to confuse Rampage with a combo of punches and kicks or changing levels a la GSP.
I am admittedly a Rampage fan and know Jones has the tools to make it a long night, but Rampage just needs one punch… That’s it.. Jones has not fought that kind of guy. And I don’t mean a Chris Leben zombie kind of guy.. Jones’ standup is good, but not because he is technical. He is bigger and more athletic than the entire division, but as unpredictable as he is there are holes in his game someone like Rampage can exploit.. IF he can get close. It will be interesting…
BTW I am calling it now.. Style wise Machida has the style to give Jones fits.. In and out on the feet, fast fast hands and kicks, and has never been on his back via a takedown… If the fight happens you can tell me I’m right when he beats Jones..
Cliche’ he splints young
Cliche’ he sounds young.by that I mean saying what other people quote and trying to make it his.not saying Rampage sucks but I think that this a givin titte defense for Jons.hope rampage knocks him out and see how jons comes back from a KO.if it wasn’t for rampage Dis fight would suck.PITTY THE FOOL!
Dont get me wrong,Rampage is Awesome,super tough guy with a great chin,and maybe the hardest punch in the 205 div. but getting past Jones reach will be a problem,and if he does get inside, jones will clinch and take him down with one of his trademark throws,then start raining down elbows and it’s game over.
@jake1220
Chris Leben was always an attraction/gatekeeper. Rampage however is the bottom of the top tier of the division. As for Carwin: I don’t see how you can talk about him being a ‘gatekeeper’. Pat Barry is a gatekeeper. Kongo is slightly above a gatekeeper. Carwin, though, is the latest #1 contender eliminator challenger. How does he go from that a few months ago (with noone moving ahead of him as of yet), to someone who is a gatekeeper *”at best” nontheless?
people just say things as they feel on this forum with no real backing a lot of the time it seems to me…..Jones is gonna run through rampage unfortunately, jackson wont be able to get inside jones is gonna land heavy kicks from the outside get the take down and TKO jackson.
i’m pulling for Rampage in this fight. Hope he pulls the upset and puts Judas Jones to sleep!
Jon Jones all the way on this fight…an easy night for JJ. Easy betting money. Rampage is gonna join the list of fighters who are flummoxed by JJ’s sheer prodigal talent,his unorthodox style and the amazing reach of his elbows and knees….goodnite Rampage, please don’t fight and drive…..
guys this is a fight anything can happen look at what Tito did you never now all the talk is just talk for all we know jones goes for a spinning elbow and Rampage backs up and knocks jones out or jones kicks rampage in the head and goodnight this is a unpredictable sport
He speaks in cliches and drivel. For such a good fighter, he is amazingly boring to listen to. Shut up and fight.
wow, lots of jj nuthuggers here…I can’t wait until this hype train is derailed. Hasn’t even defended the title and he is in the ranks with Anderson Silva, common now, the only legit fighter he beat is Shogun and even forrest did that and old man Coleman gave Shogun a run for his money too.
Wow, that’s a lot of elbows and punches to the back of the head for just one highlight reel. wouldn’t mind if rampage humbles this guy with a few extra shots right after the finishing left hook.
