Log in to Reply memphismike May 23, 2013 this guy is right did u know Nate Diaz only got 15k for his last fight and he is a top 10 ranked fighter.pay these guys and they wont feel the pressure to win and we would have bad ass fights with bangers instead of being tentative and goin for decision.i don’t know about all of u but i buy ppv so i can see great fights from everyone and maybe like someone i never heard of<i have to go back to ufc 42 rapid fire Franklin vs Silva 12 finishes, thats getting ur moneys worth. Log in to Reply fitedoc May 23, 2013 Who is the “millionaire”??? Cholish? Please, he’s lucky to be making ends meet. A millionaire I guarantee you he’s not. And he’s right, the UFC absolutely doesn’t pay the average fighter near enough. The Nate Diaz example is just one of many. Log in to Reply this guy May 23, 2013 memphismkie Awesome point regarding the tentative fighters. They fight safe because they can’t afford to lose. Pay them more and reward exciting fighters and you’ll see different fights. Log in to Reply Noel May 23, 2013 It’s clear that fighter don’t get paid what they deserve or even need to earn. The sport is still young but the day will come as it has in every other sport that the fighters will come together to force the issue of pay. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick May 23, 2013 @fitedoc You know that a Wall street natural gas broker makes alot of money right? He probably makes more money then Aldo or Cruz with his job. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick May 23, 2013 Aldo and Cruz* Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim May 23, 2013 lmao this is the fkin retard who is going to work on wall street or something? lol and he is going to complain about pay. hey dummy let us know how much in banker bailouts your new bosses received. let us also know how many people they skimped and fkied to make billions. how much did your new firm pay in taxes last year? i’ll bet less than me and im just a slave. this idiot is retiring cause he sucks balls at fighting, not because of his pay Log in to Reply whitemexican May 23, 2013 there isn’t a job out there where you can make 15k in 15 min i’ll take that job.better than welfare an food stamps. Log in to Reply ericsson May 23, 2013 jesus christ fighting for peanuts Log in to Reply Adonis May 23, 2013 How do the whites and the fertittas sleep at night? Log in to Reply firstname.lastname@example.org May 23, 2013 “whitemexican there isn’t a job out there where you can make 15k in 15 min i’ll take that job.better than welfare an food stamps.” Not exactly a very bright comment! You’re obviously clueless in what a fighter personally invests in order to perform those 15 minutes for you in that you think they are earning their wage. I suggest you watch the video 9 or 10 more times, then sleep on it a few nights and you might start to get a clue… Log in to Reply sby May 23, 2013 Don’t get paid enough? Go find another job that does. Problem solved. Log in to Reply Dave May 23, 2013 @whtemexican no disrespect but are you really that dumb and clueless??? you probably have no clue!! fighters put months of very hard work and years of experience to fight! it takes lots of training and hard work, these fighters have to pay their trainers, besides time they put in they have to eat right and in same time they have pay their rent and pay for the living for themselves and their family. I have always said that I find it absolutely shameful that the greedy ufc pays some fighters only few grand, while making millions. I think 25 grand should be minimum for fighters at UFC level. remember the fighters have tones of expenses to pay besides living expenses. Log in to Reply mu0 May 23, 2013 whitemex, you don’t make 15k in 15 minutes, it takes years to become an elite level fighter, and most of the best are training as a full time job. Log in to Reply coutura May 23, 2013 Dana and the fertitta don’t care now . their trying to make as much money now milking the fighters .they will leave and retire billionares then sell the company and that’s the end .they are smart business man.then the new owners will have to deal with the issues of the fighter salaries …lol brilliant Log in to Reply dwye4696 May 23, 2013 Ariel is a sellout Log in to Reply dwye4696 May 23, 2013 helwani may as well be a straw man for the ufc…he asks questions as if he is dana and in total disbelief that this guy is speaking rationalk and from real-world experienc Log in to Reply Ground St. Pound May 23, 2013 Do you guys practice to become so stupid?? So why would you assume these fighters don’t practice to win? You do realize they don’t show up and “get paid for 15 minutes work”, right? Did you not listen to him break down his training, management, coaching, hotel, flight costs? Surely you understand that the job takes more than 15 minutes? And what’s with the hate? He’s not asking for more money. He’s saying he’s ok because he has another job but he wants us, the fans, to back up the OTHER FIGHTERS who don’t! You know the Romans had fighters they cheered for fighting in the Colosseums who didn’t get paid anything. They were slaves. We look back at that and shudder at the barbarity, but some MMA fans are similar. They love to watch this guys risk life and limb but hate to hear about paying them equitably. I wonder if some of you are born of two stupid parents or if you guys just worked hard at developing that skill yourselves. Log in to Reply Ground St. Pound May 23, 2013 @sby Spoken like a true hater. Most of the people on this site profess to be fans of the sport. As fans we DO NOT WANT FIGHTERS FINDING OTHER JOBS. WE WANT THEM FIGHTING! Honestly, you’d think some of this would be real basic grade school logic. Is that what we’ve come to as fans? Telling fighters to either fight or peanuts and shut up or else leave the sport? Are we really THAT much against these guys getting paid a fair wage? And calling ourselves fans? Sometimes I think the best thing for this sport would be if 20-30% of its idiotic fans choked and died. Log in to Reply PowerTele May 23, 2013 Not brilliant coutura. Buying low and selling high is evil. Dana White says he loves the sport. He should show that love by helping the fighters make a good living. He travels and his kids live well. Why can’t the guys that risk their lives for him to live well make a good living????? The rich guys want us to think that way. They want us to be complacent. THINK. PLANTATION???? One man makes many work for cheap or nothing while he lives high on the hog. Slave systems. Log in to Reply BiteMyBird May 23, 2013 They are not forced to fight for a living. They are not forced to sign a contract with the UFC. They are adults that make the chose to fight for a living and sign with the ufc. Not all fighters are equal.Lower level fighters will never make as much money as higher level fighters! There is nothing wrong with that. Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick May 24, 2013 @whitemexican Idiot…BTW there are guys who make 15k for 1 day.John Cholish’s boss probably makes more money then that. Log in to Reply Roe Jogan May 24, 2013 Cholish is 100% correct. The UFC makes over $700 Million in PPV, Over $700 Million in TV Contract Deals (Fox + Brazil + UK), and then there is gate, sponsors, etc… for millions more. They should be doing well over $1.5 BILLION a year. Yet they have fighters making not enough to even break even. Cholish broke down the numbers…. he didn’t even make enough to pay his coaches. He lost money on fighting in Brazil. That’s horrible. Log in to Reply Moedawg May 24, 2013 Fans, BOYCOTT THE UFC! Log in to Reply greengiant May 24, 2013 @marvelous mad madam mim – That is irrelevant how much he makes outside the ufc or what he does in this circumstance. His job might be a slimey business in it self but he is shedding some light on how all the lower level fighters are treated. Log in to Reply tallandsincere May 24, 2013 15 in 15 mins hahahaha not the ten hours of training they put in every single day, change of lifestyle in every way… douche Log in to Reply rampage May 24, 2013 pay up dana! cheap mofo! Log in to Reply baller May 24, 2013 Iv been saying it, ufc fighters r being payed garbage. Top guys r making top pay but lower guys r getting nothing. He just made probably one of the most well-structured and balanced presentations about the financial issues facing UFC fighters today. Log in to Reply LowSix May 24, 2013 @ OhBoy..you are 100% correct. He gave a perfectly rational breakdown, and hes not the first to bring it up… And hes not even asking to get rich…just to get paid for making Dana and the Fertita’s f**n rich. Disgusting. Log in to Reply whitemexican May 24, 2013 let me tell you retards something that’s part of the game.you pay to play you act like sh*t’s free you must be collecting a state check.an if you go out an fight an dont run maybe you would make money. Log in to Reply Oshawabinalex May 24, 2013 Quit crying. I pay for a gym, I pay for a coach, I pay to go to Brazil. If youre not on the top… youre at the bottom. The UFC keeps you around to impress, if not, youre useless to them. Appreciate getting paid to practice on the big stage. Log in to Reply OscarMayhem May 24, 2013 Again we find sensibility with utter nonsense here. A little more Aztec, Maya, or Tarumara may color in the picture for our whitemexican friend. Sometimes when things are black and white certain folks in the now generation just don’t “get it”. It needs to be in 3D HD with pop ups and big bright letters for them to understand it. Of course this isn’t true for everyone. On a personal note, @ whitemexican, this isn’t always true as well, but when the general consensus is that you stepped in shit, it’s time for you to check your shoes.
