ok fight, would of liked to see joe display “some” stand up at the end when he couldnt get the take down but at least hes not guida
great fights, best three fights i have seen in a long time.
sanchez vs guida
lytle vs kevin
diaz vs stevenson almost a grappling match
dana should pay three fights of the evening bonuses to those six guys.
good fight it seems nobody wants 2 standup with nate….
This fight changed my opinion of Joe “Daddy” completely.
It was a great game plan for him not to stand up with Diaz, not because Diaz is better, but because Diaz’s reach could make a big difference in the judges’ scorecards. Joe showed some versatility that he hadn’t showed for a few years now.
Great fight, great victory! Nate Diaz will need to start thinking about some strength training after this fight. His Gracie jiu-jitsu is obviously not enough to save his ass against a stronger fighter.
whats that red thing on his ear at the end of the fight
Very interesting fight to watch. What does Nate have to do to get to the next level?
I like the way Stevensson dominated Diaz in the first 2 rounds, but the third was not exiting at all. To bad that Dias didn´t die, or at least ended up in coma…
another sux fight from stevenson
Hate to see an awsome grappler/wrestler like Joe Stevenson fight in stand up like he did with Diego so this was a great fight for him.
Good fight…about time someone puts a dent being so tall in the weigh class and ties him up instead of slugging it out..Joe did great..tie up his arms and legs. That first round joe tie-ing up his foot and arm was funny.”Get outta that sucker”..LOL
impressed with joe, i don’t think he was afraid to stand up with nate, but with nate’s huge reach advantage there was no way he could have won that kind of a fight. don’t really think this puts him in line for a title shot, but good to see him get a win. interested to see how nate looks in his next fight, now that he’s got two loses in a row.
can you please unbann me im sorry i love your site and will not say nothing bad again sorry sorry sorry
first off why is Joe still in ufc?Stevenson has no business in ufc. put him in strikeforce challenger series or back to tuf, your gonna need more than just a guillotine and lay and prey. well at least they gave him someone he could have a chance with. still couldn’t finish………maybe Joe vs clay loser leaves.
Too the people who think this fight sucked……..if u want to see stand up fighting go watch kickboxing. This was a great technical fight between these fighters!
Also they did award 3 Fight of the Night bonuses
Ya, this fight was really, again, Joe isnt doing ANY damage, hes not threatening in any way, Id give this fight to Nate, he is the one “fighting” hes fighting to get this damn guy off him so he can inflict some damage, which is the goal in a fight.

whats that red thing on his ear at the end of the fight

Your wish came true. 3 fight of the night bonuses handed out.
damn ! the little guy is good !
Six $25,000 “Fight of the Night” bonuses went to Lytle and Burns, Stevenson and Diaz and Sanchez and Guida. Drwal pocketed a $25,000 “Knockout of the Night” prize, and Dent banked a $25,000 “Submission of the Night” bonus.
suprised at the score, I thought Stevenson won all three
@Exx you are retarded? Seriously? give it to nate because he wanted to fight? If nate wanted a different outcome he should have done something about it.
Smart fight for Joe “Daddy” and I’m glad to see him look much improved/intelligent now that he is training with Jackson. It appears to have made a difference.
As for Diaz, he was dominated consecutively by strong wrestlers/grapplers which shows a gaping hole in his game. He needs to work on wrestling & takedown defense, strengh & conditioning, and most important, he is a dangerously slow starter! Diaz needs to fight in the first 2 rounds like he does in the 3′d and he would have much more success.
Overall, this fight was a great technical display of grappling/MMA and I don’t see how any MMA fan could complain about the quality of such of a fight! For those that do, I say either educate yourself or go watch something else.
Lastly, it’s interesting to see where these two fighters go from here. Personally, I’d like to see Stevenson fight either Tyson or Guida and I would love to see Diaz fight either Guillard (could you imagine the shit talk between them two) or even Gleison Tibau.
great fight!!! tnx bruno!!! ur the man!!!!
im glad to see a diaz go down…im waiting for big brother to fight someone worth while. as far as joe, he did great. hes a short guy and even though he is a decent boxer….his reach makes it a bad decision to stand…especially a monkey armed fighter like nate.
I thought this was a really interesting grappling/jiu-jitsu battle. Sure they cancelled each other out for the most part, but the fight was still very entertaining. Nice change of pace.
29/28?
never new joe’s jit was so good and those single leg roll takedowns workied a treat! have to try a couple o those!
