you are wrong my friend it has nothing to do with people jumping the wagon.
I’ve always like Condit but that was no “technique” winning.
it was running away and sneaking little kicks and punches while running away.
just like snype6969 said they scored it like boxing for the little ineffective kicks and stuff. this is MMA fighters shouldn’t win by running.
right after the fight I had the same opinion as I do now. I think people that know more about mma can understand but people that know about scoring little hit games don’t know.
MMA is about who has the most effective strikes and aggression. Condit surely didn’t impose any threat nor he was aggressive he won by getting scores from little ineffective strikes while running away.

Getting out moved and chasing a guy doesnt mean you are controlling teh octagon.CARLOS CONTROLLED THE OCTOGON NOT NICK.Nick could never corner Carlos and Carlos outmoved him.So what do you have to say now haters.You dont even have the excuse that Nick won 2 of the judging criteria.No he didnt.He just won agression.Anyways here’s how judges should count these criterias:
Effective striking: 40% of the score
Effective grappling: 40% of the score
Octogon control: 10% of the score
Agression:10% of the score.
And most fighting sports dont even judge agression because it’s against what martial arts teach you.And for the WWE fan-noobs judging agression sounds to them that if you don’t fight like an idiot swinging for the fences you should lose.

After watching that fight for a second time, Diaz had that look on his face that he lost this fight after the fifth round. Condit knew he’d won, so i gotta say my first impression of Carlos winning was correct. 3 judges agreed too…

Best post on the thread. Dead on with all points. The reality is that fighting is not about how it LOOKS. I don’t think ANY fighters thought Diaz won. Arm-Chair Warrior, Keyboard Warriors, sure, but no one who actually does it thinks Diaz won.

I ask again, SCORE THE FIGHT. Let’s go 2 to 1 on leg kicks…Condit still won. If you think his best move was to play “Rock ‘em, sock ‘em Robots with Diaz then you are simply stupid. At NO point is chasing someone and not connecting shots “Octogon Control”…Fox Fans and Meatheads may be one of the worst thing for the sport…

Anderson Silva is a smart fighter who takes almost no damage in any of his fights. He also never turns his back and runs away from a fighter. (unless he’s mocking them) Running from an exchange shows a lack of refined striking skills and fear. Slip and counter not slip and run away. I liked Condit before this fight, but it was quite obvious he was afraid of Diaz. Did Condit out point Diaz? Yes. Did Condit win the fight? No. For the number of “significant” strikes Condit supposedly landed, Diaz’s face was remarkably unmarked. BJ fought Nick and landed significant strikes. Condit rubbed Nick’s face and ran. The worst mark on Nick’s face after the fight was a scratch. POWER SHOTS!!! Diaz fought, Condit survived.

everyone defending condit is a f****** idiot… there are more ways to avoid being hit than to run away… ever hear of circling? ever hear of slipping? condit fought like a man who is afraid of another man. diaz landed the significant strikes and controlled the octoagan. he also got a takedown and was the only person who came close to finishing a fight. this isn’t kick boxing, it’s mma and so many things to to be accounted for… not just kicking to the leg and running away. condit legit turned his back and ran more than a couple times each round…

All of these morons commenting is one of the very bad aspect of the UFC going primetime on fox, there are several million new viewers that are suddenly fanboys, just like in the old days, expecting every fight to be jean claude van damme karate s*** and huge knockouts, etc etc etc.
Nick Diaz was also fighting conservatively, believe it or not, because he knew if he totally lost his composure and went balls to the wall, condit completely had the ability to end the match.
That being said, Nick is a great and exciting fighter, but he has to be able to come up with a new gameplan when #1 does not work.
For 25 minutes, nicks gameplan pretty much didn’t work ( rounds blah blah arguably nicks) all of that BS aside.
If any of you thought this fight was BS, you are simply beyond delusional if you thought fighting GSP would have gone any better for diaz.
GSP is going to jab and shadow box diaz , and then take him down, and land small elbows, punches, and knees, for 5 rounds if there is no finish.
GSP will probably throw a couple submission attempts in there also, along with like 10-15 takedowns, while absorbing almost no damage as compared to what diaz will receive. The ones on here bitching now, will be crying about the same s*** when above stated scenario occurs.
Adapt and Overcome, or you will get smashed. Penn folded to diaz because he failed to adapt to someone absolutey smashing him, diaz failed to condit because he failed to adapt to an adequate challenger who didnt fold to his pace or s*** talking.
Anyone who thinks diaz in his current state would do even 1 % better against GSP is simply an idiot, you guys need to grow up and really examine how you view this sport if that is your take on things.
This sport is a GAME, yes, its fighting, yes, some fighters choose to go out and simply throw bombs until it ends one way or the other.
But fighters like GSP and Condit will not be semi retarded with a dozen different kinds of brain injuries when they are 45. And all of the bitching and whining in the world by BAD FANS, will not change the fact that every last one of these dudes that go out and take 100 + punches to the head in every match, are going to get absolutely jacked up before their (much shorter ) careers are over.
I have personally had a rough ass life, and i would gather most of the people on the internet BITCHING, that condit ran for 25 minutes, are either stupid, or have not been in very many real fights.
It really sucks badly to be punched and kicked, especially in the head, it is a GOOD thing to avoid this, and still dish it out more than your opponent is, anyone failing to understand this concept is a moron.

The UFC fans deserve a professional commentator, not Rogan with his unprofessional screaming garbage.Every time he opens his mouth he cheapens his words. How many times have you heard Joe scream that the sub attempt “is in tight” only to have the guy slip out immediately. It’s like saying that the baseball is over the fence only to end up saying that the shortstop caught it.
