I remember big john quite reffing because of a gig I think for hdnet and supposedly said something about ufc which up settled Dana. He then at that time reapplied to become a ref again but was denied.

THERE IS NO BETTER REFEREE IN THE BUSINESS THAN BIG JOHN MCCARTHY.

he may have had some falling out with dana or visa versa (very common lol)but he is still the best.
