I think Calzaghe just got it, He was the aggressor and always coming forward. I think in this type of shit fight you have to give it to the guy who’s always on the offence or there wouldn’t be a fight.

I think boxing just fell off again. MMATKO I got respect for you for putting up boxing matches too but please only put up exciting boxing matches. Dont get me wrong I love boxing but fights like this makes me hate it.

As an American I can say Calzaghe totally won that fight. Hopkins was scared the whole fight and fought like an amateur. One punch and grab. It was sad to watch a great fighter like Calzaghe chaise Hopkins all night, but saddly that is what American boxers do now. They just cannot stand up to European fighters.

I disagree with Sagat. Please continue to post the key boxing matches of the year even if they turn out to be boring. There’s a lot of MMA fights that are boring too with a lot of stale groundwork, but I like to still see them up here. I’d rather see them and find out they’re boring than wonder how they went.

hops is just too old.. boring fight.. like 80% of boxing now adays.. thus why it will become a dead sport eventually

Hopkins is and old fighter and he looked it in this fight. He would punch and hold through out the fight to nullify Joe’s flurrying style of fighting. If no one saw the whole fight, Hopkins went down on a phantom punch to the groin. Haha, veteran move to get some rest. Anyway I like Hopkins but he got beat by a busier and relentless fighter.

One more thing, this fight was made boring by Hopkins continuously grabbing Joe. Calzaghe should file a restraining order after the fight. Calzaghe’s fights are usually very exciting because he throws a lot of punches. But you can’t do that when you have a dude grabbing and groping you.
