Like Joe said he has a counter to every position. A huge contrast to the fighters who grind the hold even after they know the fight is over (Mir, Rousey, Palhares, etc.) Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick October 27, 2013 @Noel You can’t put Rousey and Mir in the same bag as Paul Harris. Mir and Rousey break arms because the ohter fighter is too stuborn to tap. When Rousey won by flying armbar she even let go before the ref stopped it and the other fighter got bitchy and said she didn’t tap so from that time se only lets go when the other fighter taps. It’s not her fault if the other fighters don’t tap and the ref doesn’t stop it. Log in to Reply Noel October 27, 2013 We disagree. Some fighters will never tap. They’d rather get choked out or, as in the case of Royce Gracie, even after his arm was broken he refused to tap. Who cares if a fighter bitches? There will always be fighter who bitch. Rousey had Tates arm bent 90 degrees backwards and kept cranking. Tate never tapped so Rousey broke her arm even after it was obvious the arm was dislocated and the fight was over even before the ref stopped it. In contrast, Pettis released Henderson’s arm before the ref stopped the fight and before the ref even knew Henderson verbally tapped. All Rousey had to do was hold the arm and wait for the ref to catch up to the fact the fight was over but Rousey has made it clear she’ll break a fighter’s arm. Mir has said the same thing. Yea, it’s her fault for breaking the arm when going that far is not necessary even if the other fighter doesn’t tap. Because in that scenario, the fight will continue, and the fighter that should have tapped will probably suffer even more damage. What about the fights where it looks like a fighter is in serious danger but then gets out? Belcher/Paul Harris? Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
