What an arrogant way to tell a story. Glad Jake Ellenberger gave him another L.

i don’t think he is a bad guy and i agree with him.he comes off as a little arrogant but thats human nature and hard to overcome.

You obviously never trained at a real MMA gym. Props to Jay for doing what exactly needs to be done. Loudmouths need to show respect in any martial arts gym when they come in to learn. They are there to be a student, not a teacher. If they know so much, they should have their own gyms or at least be teachers in a gym.

Great story… don’t talk it if you can’t walk it…

He is not a gym bully he is just protecting his house. But he does seem to be a fight junky. Once you start fighting like he does its all you care about anymore.

I thought he was ok. I know those guys that come in the gym.

this reminds me of some kid coming to my gym with a cocky attitude. so i also had to lay a little beating on him too. We sparred expecting that we were going to go through the motions. I was going 60% but he was going around80%. I brushed it off but in the second round he started to go even harder maybe full speed. so i got annoyed and decided to either knock the guy out or make him feel the pain. I decided just to chop his legs down. I kept hitting his front leg with all my might. seeing his face cringe and legs buckle. After the second round he didnt want to go anymore. Then after he limped toward and said, “you didnt have to go that hard, im barley coming back from an injury”. in my head i was like bitch you started it. But all i said to him was, “Ohh was, damn”. and smirked… >_<

I didn’t talk any smack but I remember when I first started kickboxing a few years ago I would go nearly 100% and get my ass kicked. Sometimes it’s not that the guy is a douche, well if he is talking s*** then he is a douche, but I’ve wrestled since I was a kid and the coach would give you s*** if you are not going 100% in sparring so I had forgotten what it was like to be a beginner. just saying it’s not always a douche who goes 100%, I just didn’t know.

First i heard about this was last month from Mac Danzig on the Rogan podcast he said that Hieron and Pyle beat up on people all the time and its a game to them. He also said that most fighters were not happy at Coutures(named Maynard alot in this) and its alot down to those two guys.

Pyle I wasnt surprised about. love him as a fighter but hes got that air about him.

That crap actually happened to me, but the other way around. I was the bullied. I was in college and my schedule didn’t fit me going to the gym daily (it was open afternoons only) but on Sundays I could go in and free roll. No classes, they just open up the gym so guys can use the mats. I paid the daily fee of 20 bucks when I went in, signed the waiver.

The 3rd time I went they told me I had to sign up, $120 a month 6 month minimum.

Me: “I just wanna pay my fee and roll.”
Them: “Well we don’t want to get screwed here.”
Me: “Who’s getting screwed? I paid my 20, you aren’t paying an instructor, this is just free rolling with the guys.”

I was helping some other heavy weights prep for a tourney, there were only like 3 of us. Those guys were glad for the help.

So anyway the trainer sicks one of his blue belts onto me right off the bat. He messed my face up with his wedding ring, a cheap freaking move. So I rolled for a straight leg lock, got it, and cranked. Popped his ankle. It was massively lucky, I just happen to be strong at that position and that school was old school Gracie style. Not a lot of leg lock work. So I surprised him when I spun for it.

I never went back. I’m sure they’d have really f***** me up had I gone back. As it was I had a huge friction rip down my face that stayed for like 5 days. Rings man! Cheap ass s***. Bunch of babies.

wrestling 100% and striking 100% are totally different. You can wrestle 100% and it is unlikely you will get hurt because you’re not punching someone in the head. You destroy a guy wrestling and he doesn’t have a concussion and he can still work the next day, his ego is just a bit bruised from being dominated.

Anyways, reading these stories just shows how in these kinds of sports you can’t have shitty people and the reality is the majority of people at these places are shitty. Meaning full of pride and would not hesitate to injure someone.
