James Irvin discusses his fight plan against Anderson Silva. |
I like how Irvin fights, its always exciting but if he underestimate Silva’s clinch like Franklin did… That pretty boy face of his is gon’ be kneed in. Not only that, Silva’s ground game is top-notch so he better be prepared.
So good luck sand man, don’t sleep on the spider.
20 pounds is a big jump…i wrestled in college at 155, i cant imagine going against gues that were 175…i think the spider is going to look more like a slug, its a lot of weight
yeah his whole getting in close strategy seems like it’s going to fall right into anderson’s clinch, but either way i give it up to irvin for taking the fight when supposedly nobody else wanted to.
you can pretty much sum this fight up as bigger stronger brawler with heavy hands vs. smaller faster technical fighter.
It will be interesting to see if and how anderson overcomes this challenge. i guess it’s not impossible. Hendo moved up and knocked out Wanderlei.
who else have we seen get dominated by Franklins clinch?? I havent seen Silva really take a few hard shots.. who has he fought with knockout power like Irvins? no one thats what makes it exciting… anderson can do his clinch all he wants but if hes gettin pummled in the face while doing it he might not be jumpin around like he usually is plus 20 lbs… I dont think yer gonna see Silva walk through Irvin if he wins.. itll be a dicision I bet if Silva wins mark my words
Anderson Silva walks around at around 215.. It’s not that big of a jump in weight.
knockout power like irvin…hmmm…hendo? duuuurrrrr
james irvin has luck on his side…terry martin was destroying him… he’s only a mediocre fighter.. he’s lucky he knocked houston alexander early, because i know what would have happened.. the gave anderson silva one of the weakest links in the 205 class…HAND PICKED OPPONENT.. FUCK UFC WATCH AFFLICTION MUCH BETTER CARD…..
famous last words “i’m going to hold my ground and not back up..”
the truth is Anderson doesn’t do anything in the ring recklessly, if he clinches, it’s b/cuz his opponent made a mistake and gave him that opportunity…in fact, all of Silva’s fights are a chess match, and he basically takes advantages of ANYTHING….so Irvin better be game on and not get sloppy..Anderson Silva is precision, and he’s a finisher, so if Irvin gets wobbled even a tiny bit, unlike Rampage who had Forrest hurt and didn’t finish him, or Herring who had Noguera hurt but didn’t finish him, TRUST- Silva will finish…I expect alot of high kicks from Silva in this one, very fast kicks that he’ll set up first by going low…
I like the way irvin slags off andersons weaknesses, its just nobody has exploited them yet! goodluck tko 1st round silva
Anderson Silva does NOT walk around at 215. I think he walks around closer to 195-200. I think Silva is going to manhandle Irvin, picking him apart with strikes a la Chris Leben when Irvin makes the mistake of swinging for the fences against a technically superior striker.
Helloooo do you know the spider is sparing with minotauro nogeira on boxin and jiu jitsu he is heavier than the sandman. Even minotauro can’t handle the spider mui thai clinch antonio rodrigo spoke on a brazilian sports channel he said the spider gained 20 pounds of solid leg muscle
Drew.. your a fool.. silva is still dropping weight to make 205

Irvin=pretty boy? Are we lookin at the same bloke?
I just do not see how Irvin can pull it off. I like him and all, but I think that Silva’s game is just so water-tight. Silva is so fast with arms and legs.
silva>irvin tko @ 3:34 in the first.
I got Irvin on this one. The guy’s got sick punch/kick power I think Silva’s goin down unless he can catch Irving in a submission somehow but I doubt that…
I’d like to see the Sandman win. What a fun mess it would cause if it actually happened.
I got Irvin on this one also.
superior tech for the spider
