Awful fight, but Woodley can’t let Shields dictate the entire thing. So I can’t hate the decision, aside from the ludicrous 30-27. I’m going to guess that same judge gave it to Evaans too. Hate the fight though, sure, lol.

I did enjoy the massive overreaction to the spinning backfist though.

I haven’t watched this fight because I when you watch shields fight, you know you’re going to watch a snoozefest.

Its funny how Shields is so boring and everyone notices it but when it comes to the Hype of GSP everyone forgets GSP is a champion and can’t finish any fights ..

The difference between GSP and Shields is that GSP is classy, dominates his opponents and does damage. Shields has 2 moves, wall n stall, lay n pray. He is unlikeable and not entertaining.

AmericanMMA you are a noob if you think GSP fights and Shield fights fall in the same category.

But on topic to this fight – I am glad Woodley lost after all his ignorant s*** talk. But boy ohh boy was that a snoozefest. Also Ironcobra is right what was that 30-27 Woodley judge watching that was just horrible. In pride Woodley would have maybe won this fight but according to current MMA scoring no way he won. octagon control is a huge aspect of scoring and Shields was in control of where the fight went even though he couldn’t take down Woodley and he was usually in the better position against the cage. Those kicks and punches Shields threw were flat out embarassing but all fight they were counting them as significant strikes they really need to work on their understanding of significant.

In my eye’s Woodley would have won if it were a “real” fight but Shields won according to current MMA scoring guidelines, pretty simple.

WOW!!! a night full of garbage fights and decisions!!!! Jake Shields has the ugliest stand up I’ve seen since Tim Silvia!!!!

KungFuLowKick Says, in 6-17-2013 at 18:37:34 from

You are so right about the significant strikes.Landing a shot doesn’t mean it is a significant strike.Octagon control and aggression are 2 things that shouldn’t count in MMA judging.MMA is a sport, but in the end it’s still a fight and the only thing that counts in a fight is effective striking and grappling. If I’m in a bar and a guy pushes me on a wall but I knock him out, does he win because he was the aggressor and had the “room” control?

Even though Shields got the W, he hardly won – Woodley lost that fight. He lost it because he did SFA when it mattered and let Shieldszzzz dictate the pace/style. That being said, Shieldszzzz is boring as F*CK to watch and I’m more annoyed at Tyron for not going for it.

Shieldszzzzz is worse to watch than John Fitch. Those pansy half-shots he throws multiple times (and barely land) are a joke and they should be fractional strikes on the count.

Dr. Says, in 6-18-2013 at 16:29:18 from

And yet, he had GSP in trouble and not seeing straight (thought GSP was going to quit). The whole world is messed up when that happens. If I ever watch another Shieldszzzzz fight, I’m going to punch myself in the face until I smarten up.

The reason I watched this one was to see him get KTFO’d. That’s the only reason and I’m done with that.

gsp is fraud
he fights specifically not to lose
not to mention his perfection of the
dry hump
bring back the stomps and soccer kicks
also kneeing an opponent whens hes down
should be legal
as for this fight I scored it
10 -9 9-10 and 10-10 DRAW

AmericanMMA Says, in 6-19-2013 at 03:05:01 from

The difference between Jake Shields and GSP is that GSP is a champion and has Not finshed or stopped a fighter in over 4 years going on 5 years it it was by corner stopage !!! Champion who can not finish fights in MMA , interesting.
