BASS!!! is a wise, wise old man! I concur Fedor needs to learn how to punch.
GSP vs BJ and GSP vs Silva indeed old man, GSP vs Bj and GSP vs Silva indeed! This show would be 100 time better if franklyn mcneil was there.

Uhh, Bas should stick to mma comments, he just mixed up Sigfrieds story with that of Aquiles…”when Achilles was born Thetis tried to make him immortal by dipping him in the river Styx. However, she forgot to wet the heel she held him by, leaving him vulnerable at that spot”…

Finch doesn’t have “great” striking. He has “great for UFC” striking; which isn’t that great. MMA has a great grapple game, but the striking is fairly weak in general(at least right now).

However…

Gsp has great striking. Not great striking for MMA, straight up great striking. I think his punches are the best in MMA, Gsp is the only person in the UFC that, I think at least, could actually switch to boxing with great success. He has solid technical punching. His kicks are powerful, efficient and he mixes them with his punches quite nicely.

Watch round 2 of their fight and you will see the difference between a “great” striker and a “great for ufc” striker.

Sorry, just to add to my last post; I don’t mean to sound down on the UFC. The UFC excites me and I am a fan, I am also a big fan of boxing, so I do tend to compare the two.

In truth, I am sure there are boxers that could make a smooth transition to UFC, but I sure as hell don’t know who they are… Every boxer has amazing striking with their punches, and most will have a good understanding of foot work. But it is impossible to say how many could adapt a kicking and grappling game…

Just saying, I don’t want people to think of me as a hater…
