Ref. was sleeping on this one. Shlemenko knew Minowa was out and the ref. kept telling him to continue. The leg lock is just zombie reflexes. When you train that much, your body simply does what it is used to when the brain is not in control anymore. The way Minowa fell after that knee says everything.
I like giving people a chance to recover, but this was not one of those cases.

Damn Shlemenko is a dangerous striker.And good thing he’s a nice guy.He clearly saw Minowaman was out and probably felt it when he tried the leglock so he backed up.

As nice as that knee was the left hook to the ribs on the ground looked crippling. You don’t see that often enough when guys are hurt and covered up exposing their bodies. The Reem and Rashad are the only 2 guys in recent memmory to really hurt someone by going to the body once the opponent was hurt on the ground.

@The Viciousone…Lil Nog hurt Ortiz w/ bodyshots on the ground and Rampage back in pride used to use a lot of elbows to the body.
Btw, the only reason Minowaman lost is because he wasn’t fighting someone weighing over 100 pounds more than him. If he fought Grove or Duffee he would have won without a doubt by leglock.

Shlemenko is a terrific fighter. He brings it every time and ran right through Minowa. I hope one day that he will be in the UFC fighting for the belt.

Fogot about the Rogerio fight. Def a nice body attack as well.
Pride is now a distant memory though, sadly. I meant more recently but totally agree with Rampages devastating body attack on the ground
