There are many set ups to catch different Head and Arm chokes but one in particular has been the focus in grappling lately since this tech works surprisingly sneaky. This choke is the infamous, “D’Arce” choke.
if (is_feed()) { die(); }
great move, my sifu teaches it another way, the variation frank mer showed is not a good way to do it.

Murr, where’s the chick you had on a previous clip? she’s better to look at and funnier. Can’t wait to see murr in on TUF, he’ll probably hog the camera with his arrogance. I hope the spider and lyoto are there too.
Black noob
interesting choke.frank mir and josh barnet are the best usa fighters
your Wing Chun Kung Fu teacher taught you that gerbil?
ur sifu eh lol well im a blue belt in bjj and use this variation and seen it used effectively. so no offense but ill have to say ur wroung and that it is in fact a good way of doing it
d’arce choke variation is the brabo choke. similar but a tweak in positioning.
Yeah it’s a nice choke. I’ve recently been getting it a bit when a person tries for the underhook escape underneath half-guard. Weight down on the arm and sneak the underhooked arm to the opponents neck, its simple to apply. And usually if you don’t get the choke, they are focussed on the defense you can quite often get to side control or mount instead.
What is this move?.. is it another Judo choke renamed by the Gracies?
Future champ?!! funny guy!..
more like future chump!
Maybe after he looses his undeserved title match, he should try his hand at comedy.
I highly doubt that his mediocre BJJ will beat Nog’s top notch BJJ.
I can’t think of a fight this has been used in. Anyone? A great move btw. But I think most guys just go for the rnc in that position.
Kendall Grove finished Allen Belcher in UFC 69 using the D’arce choke. Put the “Talent” to sleep.
