This is the fight video of Hong Man Choi and Gary Goodridge at K-1 Hongkong GP 07.

Back on August 5th at the Asia World Grand Prix in Hongkong, he conquered Gary Goodridge by KO at 1:34 in the first round. Choi weighed in at 360 lb and measured 7ft 2in tall. He mad the 6ft 1in Goodridge look like a child. Notable on this fight was his stance. Since he debuted in 2005 in K-1, he has fought using an orthodox stance. But in this fight, he fought for the first time as southpaw.

i think this might be fedors biggest challenge, based solely on the size of this guy. i think fedor will have no choice but to try and take him down and submit him.

broc lesnar was supposed to fight this guy in his mma debut. that would have been fun to see. the unusually tall vs. the unusually massive.

yep. an absolute freak. Goodridge is a big guy. Choi is enormous, a very difficult fight for anyone under K1 rules. I agree if Fedor is fighting him he must take him down and work that crazy ground n pound or try and submit him by cranking one of those tree trunk looking limbs.

Fedor should have a half a dozen ways. he should be quick footed and get the big fella down. North South action and knees or something new. perhaps a rear naked using 1 leg and 2 arms?

Am I going to have to be the first one to comment on how disgusting the Asian commentators are? Here’s this freak of nature - the size of a house, and the announcers are acting like the guy’s overprotective parents. Poor little puny Gary fights the good fight, runs in and flicks the elephant’s side with a jab, they’re like “Oioioioi oh-NOOOOOO, yoyoyo!” Then they act like Ali just beat Foreman when their Korean Andre demolishes a guy 150 lbs lighter than him. Seriously chipped shoulders on these yallers.

By the way, Fedor’s going to have no problem slipping Choi’s molasses jab and taking the behemoth down where they’re the same height. Choi’s nasty kimchi farts will be his last defense, and Fedor’s nose is as indomitable as the Siberian winter. Fedor could single-handedly liberate North Korea.

I think most of you forget how hard Fedor hits. I’m sure Choi knows, and that will keep him at bay, Goodridge doesn’t come close to having the punching power that Fedor has. I’m sure all you guys were saying the same shit when Fador was gonna fight Crocop “blah blah blah he has to take it to the ground, blah blah” and what happened?… I’m sure you all know by now. With the skills Fedor has, he can strike Vs a striker, and grapple vs a grappler, and he can ground and pound like no one else, that’s why he so often referred to as the “best”. So to all you newbies just sit back at watch, and then speak your peace.

Plus people shouldn’t make anything of this fight, Goodridge has been a punching bag for Pride and K-1 for a very long time. He wins fights as often as Fedor looses them.

This should be an entertaining fight. My money is on Fedor. Hong Man has paid zero dues and does not have the necessary experience to defeat Fedor. Fedor cannot be muscled around and how much stamina does Hong Man really have? Not enough. But it’s always fun to watch a big and small man fight.
