thats why I keep saying the scoring system is stupid. When there is no clear winner, the fight should be a draw, period. Wins should be earned, not obtained just because the current system likes to award someone with a win. When both fighters do not do anything, I would be in favor of giving them both a loss, when both fighters put on a great performance but are even, they could get both a win.

This fight wasn’t about Lombard standing in front of Boetsch and not getting hit as his perfect strategy. This fight was about Lombard making a major statement to Dana, the media and the fans that he is the baddest dude coming after Silva’s belt and throne.

Bottom line is win, lose or draw, he blew it coming out of the gate. Blame goes to his coaches. The man did not perform.

@psxdogg if his plan WAS perfect he would have not have left it to the judges, now, would he? But his gameplan for the most part of simply standing motionless to the point of having the whole arena booing his performance and being basically unimpressive to the point of losing the decision would be by definition be imperfect, or more accurately: flawed. Even he himself said it wasn’t his best performance. So even he would disagree with your analysis that his strategy was “perfect”. Everyone knows by now that in the UFC that its all about wowing the judges and winning over the crowd. Lombard did neither and instead played it safe. Thats how he wanted it, and thats what he got, which cost him the decision. Case closed.

Based on this fight, even Lombard and Boetsch together couldn’t take out Silva.

WTF lombard. Wat kind of performance was that. i was expecting some fireworks for this fight but all i got was lombard being a bum looking all slow. and people actually thought that this guy could take out the Spider hell naw.
